It doesn't mean he didn't write the beats. A lot of bands use studio musicians to help out.

Jev 01-26-2006 07:23 AM

Has a release date been confirmed yet?

W.M.A 01-26-2006 10:52 AM

no, it would be all over the forum. they havent alluded at all as to when the album is coming out, theyve just said there in the studio. and for all we know lars could check himself into rehab for money addiction or some BS like that and the album might not be out for years.

Jev 01-26-2006 11:04 AM

Money addiction.

Yeah I can see this one being delayed for quite a while even though they say they're in the studio right now.

A low quality DVD/VHS, featuring different gigs and concerts with Cliff, including some of their shows with Ozzy, interviews and funny things.

Aw3someman 01-26-2006 06:54 PM

It's one of those mysteries...
well IMO its very wrong seeing as that your a musician
Nile. Black Seeds of Vengeance. Derek Roddy was session drummer.
Quo Vadis. Defiant Imagination. Steve DiGiorgio was session bassist.
Death. Human. Steve DiGiorgio played session bass,

Two examples of session members that made the material better (Nile's previous drummer, Pete Hammoura I believe his name is spelled, tore his shoulder right before the BSOV recording sessions from what I remember. Roddy recorded the album in 27 hours, in one or two takes per song, over a couple days.)

DiGiorgio came in for Quo Vadis to record DI. I don't exactly know why, maybe their live bassist couldn't get to them to record? Or something? I'm not exactly familiar with Quo Vadis, though.

DiGiorgio came onto Death as a session member in '91 to record the bass for Human. They got a bassist to tour, then he came back in 93 to record Indidivual Thought Patterns, and tour with them.

so where is Amit's play house Infernus?

thelittledrummerboy 01-26-2006 08:55 PM

They did a couple of years ago.

metalmilitia101 01-26-2006 09:55 PM
Yea man where have you been?

I learned sand man on drums. So know I know 6 songs on drums! One of my goals this year is to get a lot better on the skins.
ahh here and there you know how it is

nice...first metallica song i learned on drums completely lol..damn years ago man!!

oh and a million posts ago i believe it was thrasher that said lars sounded faster on st anger...i dont want to start a fight but i quite disagree, i really think he is experiencing a SHARP decline, and i dont know why. he never was really great, but hes getting worse as he gets older and it kinda dissapoints me. he is still keeping the beat up and sounding decent with the music so i wont complain tho. i know that he has changed the pieces on his kit around, and i'm wondering if that has anything to do with it. who knows...

as far as the next album goes, i am expecting straight hard rock with just a slight nu metal touch and maybe a solo or two? hopefully?

Blank 01-26-2006 09:59 PM

They said they're going back to there old sound actually.
Meh who knows...it's metallica :amaze:

metalmilitia101 01-26-2006 10:02 PM

i dunno, i dont think they can, but who knows lol

BLS_Infernus 01-26-2006 10:16 PM
i dunno, i dont think they can, but who knows lol
If you've seen them live then you know they can. I wouldn't call St. Anger Nu Metal tbqh. the only qualities of Nu Metal it has was the down tuning on SKoM and Invisible Kid because Hetfield used a 7 string and a baritone but other then that no Nu Metalness.

Solos are also back

Jim 01-26-2006 10:22 PM

God yes. God-freakin'-yes.

PepsiMetal 01-27-2006 02:29 AM

Kirk does miss pulling off those ass kicking solos and stepping on that wah. :p

They need to release the new album soon though, I dont want it to take 2 years to make a freakin cd. Unless it's better than RTL, then take all the time they need.

I think the new one will be nu metal-ish.

The solos won't save the album though because the solo's kirk plays are nothing special.

My bro played a couple solos outta Fade To Black after playing for like 6 months.

Metallica should have called it quits after the Black Album.

They are kind of like Mike Tyson.

He was a great boxer in his day, but majorly tarnished that by still fighting and making a fool of himself.

Same with Metallica.
They had their time, now they keep putting out horrid albums just to try and make a cheap buck. The more horrid albums they kick out, the more they will be known.remembered for the post black album stuff then when they were good.

PepsiMetal 01-27-2006 03:04 AM

Just because solos are easy to play doesn't mean they're bad. Simple solos can sound better than technical hard-to-play solos.

I definetely don't agree that they should have quit after black album, and neither does some million + fans. Many people like hard rockish bluesy sound from load/reload, and some enjoy the raw speedy and weird st. anger.

I'm just saying, save face.

Your argument about people still liking them?

Plenty of people like Green Day or Simple Plan, that doesn't make them a good band does it?

Jim 01-27-2006 03:19 AM

Please define bad band. Do you mean a band you don't like? Get off it buddy.
