I never bothered to listen to II because I don't like IV.

BludgeonySteve 06-22-2005 02:34 PM

guys, take your zep talk to the zep thread. It has no place here.

/we decided a while ago to stop discussing zepplin in the thread.

MalcolmYoungRock 06-22-2005 02:45 PM

Thanks for keeping my list updated Freud, it really helped a lot :)

Yeah, we decided to cease all Zeppelin talk in the thread just because there's a lot of it and it could go in the Zep thread.

(Which was on Page 5 before I bumped it this morning.)

That's a good idea.

To steer away from the Zep talk here's the Band Greatest Hits:

I don' have alot of those essential albums. So, I ask of you, do I sem knowledgable in th feild of classic rock, because my musical collection does not span as deeply as most of yours.

Mr. Squiggles 06-22-2005 03:07 PM

Ok, all this time I've been here and I've never checked out this thread. So what do you guys usually talk about on here? Besides the obvious answer "Classic Rock"

BludgeonySteve 06-22-2005 04:32 PM

Drugs, Jam rock, a little blues, a little folk but some of the folk could be considered classic rock.

Today was my last day too

I celebrated by finally buying All Things Must Pass. It should be on the essential list if it isn't all ready. It is amazing.

Just downloaded The Band- Greatest Hits, thanks Robo

Illmatic 06-22-2005 05:45 PM

I know you guys have probably heard Brian Wilson's "Smile", but have you heard the Beach Boys' version, the bootleg that was leaked a long time ago? Better than Wilson's IMO.

White_heat 06-22-2005 05:46 PM

I have never taken the time to look for it, I'm sure it's good

robo2448 06-22-2005 05:59 PM

I don't even have Smile. And I don't go back till Labor Day weekend

Glitterati 06-22-2005 06:00 PM

I've been out of school for nearly two weeks.

Mr. Squiggles 06-22-2005 06:06 PM
I've been out of school for nearly two weeks.
I have got one more final to take, American History, I'll probably take it Friday.

White_heat 06-22-2005 06:14 PM

Anyone like Dire Straits? I think they are a great band, Knophler's got a great voice and he is just great on the guitar really know how to mix his great skills with melodic phrasing.

I like some of their stuff. But I haven't listened to them much. Just what I have heard on the radio

I heard Sultans Of Swing on the radio today. I have their greatest hits, good stuff. Mark Knopfler is a wicked guitarist, I like his style.

BludgeonySteve 06-22-2005 06:55 PM

He finger picks on electric. That's style.

Illmatic 06-22-2005 06:58 PM

I've liked what I heard from Dire Straits, which admittedly is not a whole lot.

Relmar 06-22-2005 07:03 PM

Long live rock n roll

Badmoon 06-22-2005 07:05 PM

Stealer's Wheel and Dire Straits...sounds like Dylan.

Glitterati 06-22-2005 07:12 PM

Fun facts: Mark Knopfler produced Bob Dylan's Slow Train Coming album, as well as Tina Turner's comeback. He also did the music for The Princess Bride, which is an awesome movie.

robo2448 06-22-2005 07:14 PM

Mark Knopfler played on Dylan's album Slow Train Coming.

/random Dylan fact of the day

edit- ****. Beat to it.

I like that song, very relaxing yet interesting at the same time. I need to pick up an album soon.
