australia and america are tied for the greatest countries in the world imo
yes, i am going to michigan
timjim have you ever seen a poor city in a foreign country? i spent two months in morocco and while i was still relatively isolated there, the amount of poverty is amazing and very depressing
yup yup i built houses in tijuana for a summer, it was depressing but at the same time there wasnt much they could do to improve their conditions. the idiots in detroit are able to help themselves yet they dont and the city is in ruins/mostly burned down so personally i find it more depressing. plus everyone in tijuana/poor countries is very nice and loving and caring, the people of detroit are fuckin rude and care only about themselves or their gang |
do all the beer stores close by 9 too?
most 6 pack shops are open until like 12-2 am wtf? there's a few liquor stores open until 10 i'm pretty sure beer's more expensive in new jersey and ohio, it's slightly less expensive in maryland and new york, and well delaware doesn't have sales tax lucky bastards beer was a bit more expensive in mass and connecticut last time i was up north |
ugh, don't fucking hero-ize people of third world countries. that's the biggest white man's burden bullshit. people everywhere are nice, loving and caring. but most of them are interested in helping themselves any way they can. so many moroccans i met were happy to try and exploit me to get money.
|
also beer is cheap as hell in kansas, it rules
you can get a 30 pack for $15, or a six pack of tall boys for $5 |
ontario is the largest purchaser of alcohol in the world, but prices have just gone up again. you can only buy booze at liquor stores or beer stores, which usually close by 9 (some times 6). the lowest legal price for a tall can is something like $1.80 now. bought a twelve pack of small pbr cans on saturday and it cost me like 20 bucks
Ottawa is nice because quebec is 15 minutes away get beer at costco  |

true enough, and im sure they were quite happy that we built them a house in 3 days. idk i just think it's all of the people fault that detroit is the way it is, what do you expect when 60% of the High school population drops out by 16 or 17 and joins gangs, almost the entire population is on some sort of state/federal aid program like foodstamps, medicare and medicaid, and welfare then they go off use the unreported money from selling drugs to buy fancy clothes and cars etc. im not saying the entire population of detroit does this, but when even the city counsel has corruption issues and such you know there is something fundamentally wrong going on |
america suxx
also beer is cheap as hell in kansas, it rules
you can get a 30 pack for $15, or a six pack of tall boys for $5
its about the same in PA, if you're getting shit beer like natty ice or keystone light also, PA state government is currently debating more lenient liquor laws |
Washington just voted to privatize liquor, so our government controlled liquor stores will go away and prices will likely drop, beer/wine is pretty cheap here for the most part.
i believe pretty firmly that the united states is the greatest country in the world never want to leave here
I don't know how anyone could possibly ever determine the best country in the world without having visited and lived in all of them for extended periods of time. |
you don't think mitch has?
|
I mean obviously you could determine that you might like living in the US more than Yemen but saying the US is the best country in the world is one of the most hyperbolic things you can say.
|
steve really?
|
It's like saying vanilla is your favorite flavor of ice cream when you've tried like 2 or 3 others.
|
sometimes you dont need to try anything else to know that it's your favourite

Obviously I don't think people saying they are glad they live in the US and that they probably wouldn't want to live elsewhere is a bad thing. I just don't like the attitude a lot of Americans take in that we're somehow the "greatest country on earth" with such limited knowledge about the rest of the world. I don't think it's even objectively possible to name a "greatest" country.

finland
|
finland has (had?) the highest suicide rate in the world
lets send brent for an extended visit |
Scandinavian (and extreme norther places in general) have a higher suicide rate most likely because of the extremely long and dark winters that deprive people from happiness aiding Vitamin D.
|
also cold weather keeps them indoors and inactive
|
also fat
|
Surprisingly not.
|
Swedish people commit more suicide because satan
|
wasn't there some norwegian black metal thing in the 90s that brought a lot of people to suicide
anyway most countries suck america's an awesome place for me to live but overall it really really sucks the world rocks nations are a different story |
Not aware of that. There were a ton of church burnings though.
|
One guy from a well known band shot himself but I don't think there was a big suicide trend at the time or anything.
america's an awesome place for me to live but overall it really really sucks
Pretty much, for now anyways. |
