Apocalyptic Raids 01-22-2006 12:13 AM

Or the whole thread could not get butthurt when someone bashes Metallica.

Kaiwaz 01-22-2006 12:32 AM
Exactly. He needs to STFU if all he ever wants to do is bash metallica and all of it's members.
You need to stop typing. Everytime you reply to anything remotely harmful to your perspective, makes you look silly. No one's bashing anything, chill the fuck out and respect other peoples opinions on this forum, please.
So why are you posting it in a metallica thread, idiot?
That will teach him, call him names because you lost your temper. He's just stating his feelings, that's all. If you don't like it, don't ignite the fire by calling names and prolonging the conversation to a negative element.
Do a search on your username and this thread. I remember when we talked about kirk hammett and some song, and you came in here just for the sake of mentioning dave mustaine is better than kirk, even though nobody has even talked about mustaine.
Who the F cares! That's his opinion, who cares...seriously. Why wouldn't someone come in a Metallica Thread and mention Dave Mustaine? It's not rhetorical, he was part of the band once upon a time, of course you know that right? Being a huge Metallica fan and all. You need to stop typing before you embarass yourself even more.

Chu 01-22-2006 12:56 AM

The annoying thing is, vashts is sometimes the only guy in this thread with a clue, but at the same time, I definately don't agree with his Cliff bashing..

PepsiMetal 01-22-2006 01:00 AM
You need to stop typing. Everytime you reply to anything remotely harmful to your perspective, makes you look silly. No one's bashing anything, chill the fuck out and respect other peoples opinions on this forum, please.
Why should I respect his opinion when he doesn't respect anyone elses and thinks his opinion is superior to everyone elses?
That will teach him, call him names because you lost your temper. He's just stating his feelings, that's all. If you don't like it, don't ignite the fire by calling names and prolonging the conversation to a negative element.
He called me names too, what's your point?

I couldn't care less who he thinks is better as long as he stops bitching about everyone else being wrong and him being right.
Well, better leave it before it becomes into something personal.

Carpe Diem81 01-22-2006 01:45 AM

that's a retarded arguement...everyone knows that Billy Sheehan is the best bassist player known to man. He could cool Les Claypool anyday.

if you listen to Metallica on a tech. standard and don't like it then why are you listening to them. I like them but I can easily play there music. Good music is subjective and in my subjective opinion Metallica makes good music and Hetfield's phrasing is one of the best IMO. Music doesn't have to have 7 string sweeps or counterpointing or some extremely hard tech. stuff to make it sound. As long as you enjoy it I think that is the only thing that sound ever matter. If you don't like it and you feel you have to express you opinion then do so it a short and simple way that won't piss others off and leave it at that

vashts80 01-22-2006 01:52 AM
So you think in a metal forum, most people will claim Mark Hoppus as influence than cliff burton? If so, you are probably wrong. Why don't you ask in this bass' forum and see which one is mentioned more. BTW that was official Symphony X forum, who are quite metal.
Try reading my post over. You go into a metal forum and find a thread on people who inspired them to pick up their instruments. Wowzers, it won't be hard to find "Lars Ulrich" and "Kirk Hammett" and "Cliff Burton" on there. But for the majority of people, aka the masses, Mark Hoppus or somebody else, in the mainstream, are going to inspire people to play an instrument.

Yes, I'm aware that SX are "quite metal". Romeo is another God.
So why are you posting it in a metallica thread, idiot?
Because unlike a lot of people in this thread, I'm not afraid to post my opinions up for meaningful discussions.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

At least I wont bitch at your opinion.
It's ironic, because that's what you've been doing everytime I don't suck Metallica's proverbial dick
Do a search on your username and this thread. I remember when we talked about kirk hammett and some song, and you came in here just for the sake of mentioning dave mustaine is better than kirk, even though nobody has even talked about mustaine. That's called sucking him off. Same as if I came to megadeth thread, when they're discussing favorite songs or something, and out of the blue, I just say, Joe Satriani owns dave mustaine. Which is stupid, and I'm not you.
Dave Mustaine was the original lead guitarist for Metallica. Dave Mustaine is better than Kirk Hammett. Mustaine has written what was hailed as being in the top 5 thrash albums of all time. What's Kirk written? The same minor (or is it major? I can't remember) pentatonic scales covered in wah? It's not hard to see past the hype of Metallica and realize, Kirk Hammett is a very overrated guitar player. Just as overrated as Kurt Cobain, or Jimmy Paige. Just as overrated as Joey Jordison (although, he has to be good if he played with Satyricon) or Lars Ulrich.
Aha, here comes the part where you claim you know more than everyone and your opinion is always right. Talking about fanboyism...
No, I know more than you, seeing as how I actually play bass. Seeing as how I actually study the instrument, instead of blindly passing judgement over something as easy to understand as how a microwave heats things, or how a clock works.
So I need to start playing bass to determine if cliff inspired thousands of people or not? Or why don't you shut your pie hole, go ask in bass thread, and find the truth for yourself? ok?
I do post in the bass forum. I'd love to see you talk to Sade. He'd own you. Hard. Tr00f.

Sph 01-22-2006 01:58 AM

STFU. Stop bitching. This has gone way past healthy discussion.

Carpe Diem81 01-22-2006 01:59 AM

will you go somewhere with that retarded ****...yes you can express your SUBJECTIVE opinion but you have shown many areas where you don't know wtf you are talking about. take you little mature 13 year old mind somewhere else and make the Metallica thread free of you ignorant remarks

P.S. If Dave Mustaine is better then Hammett then lets see him counterpoint like Hammett can

gmoneyguy 01-22-2006 02:01 AM

Pentatonic scale is neither major or minor smart guy.

PepsiMetal 01-22-2006 02:03 AM

Ok, I'm not going to reply to his retarded posts as he doesn't know how to reply with anything relevant. This thread has suffered enough of his crap already.

So back to metallica now. :)

Anyone else heard that acoustic motorbreath that was posted here a while they played in ohio? What did you guys think of that?

vashts80 01-22-2006 02:03 AM

I love how people can throw insults around, but yet I'm the immature and ignorant one. Just an observation I've made. I'm sorry for not sucking Metallica's proverbial dick every chance I have, and I'm sorry for stating my opinions in an intelligent matter. If you'd like, I could go gangsta on you, like

"hey shut the **** up u ****ing ignorant jackoff metallica ****ing own your soul and clif burton was the ****ing best bassist to ever live, lars is the best ****ing drummer ever and he totally owns buddy rich and terry bozzio, james is the best ****ing singer ever, he totally owns fredy murcury and roger waters. kirk is the best ****ing guitar player ever, hes better than dave mustaine, john petrucci and jason becker combined"

Would you like that better, kind sirs?
Pentatonic scale is neither major or minor smart guy.
I apoligize for making a minor mistake, I'm not fluent in guitar scales.
Ok, I'm not going to reply to his retarded posts as he doesn't know how to reply with anything relevant. This thread has suffered enough of his crap already.
I directly reply to every one of your points, except my replies aren't relevent? Since when?

Riva 01-22-2006 02:08 AM

Okay, let's stop there fellows.

BLS_Infernus 01-22-2006 02:13 AM

if only AES was a mod over the R&M forum...the ban hammer would be strong and mighty

anyways...so what's everyone's favorite Hetfield solo? mine is Some Kind of Monster's phaser solo

Sph 01-22-2006 02:20 AM

I like his demo solos.

BLS_Infernus 01-22-2006 02:24 AM

demo solos? do tell and point me to where I can get those

PepsiMetal 01-22-2006 02:28 AM

I don't know which solos hetfield wrote, but I like his NEM ending solo he plays in concerts. It fits the song perfectly.

MoP interlude is also nice, but I have no idea who wrote it.

Sph 01-22-2006 02:38 AM

There are alot of demos there. Some of which have Hetfield solos on them.

Blank 01-22-2006 03:55 AM

Has anyone heard the motorhead song making fun of metallica?

Sph 01-22-2006 03:58 AM

Nope. What is it?

The_Riddler 01-22-2006 04:15 AM

Wow

I seem to come into this thread when there is no discussion that I can add anything interesting too, or fighting about something -"Selling out, Better bassists/guitarist, people bashing Metallica" It's all really pointless, sometimes makes for an interesting read though.

I tried listening to Metallica the other day, but I think their music is lost to me. It's like music of the past for no revival with my tastes in music now. I will always keep their cd's and be a fan, and buy whatever they release (with each cd) but, I have never been so tired of a bands music.

ThrashMaster27 01-22-2006 04:29 AM
http://demos.metpage.org/

Songs such as? They all say either Lloyd Grant or Dave do the leads.

Only solos I know that James has done are on Nothing Else Matters, Orion, To Live Is To Die and of course Master of Puppets.

Arguments in the Metallica thread are always the most entertaining to read.

Apocalyptic Raids 01-22-2006 05:32 AM

Fear The Hobbs

BLS_Infernus 01-22-2006 11:06 AM

yeah Hetfield's solo are a bit better in my opinion if you don't want to hear cxomplete wankfests. To Live is to Die's solo is among one of my favorites by him

Jev 01-22-2006 11:21 AM

I love that part in TLITD where all the music stops apart from an acoustic guitar. It's beautiful.

PepsiMetal 01-22-2006 01:20 PM
Has anyone heard the motorhead song making fun of metallica?
I've seen one on the limewire but always thought it was fake.

I've heard them play enter sandman though. :)

Motorhead...playing Metallica?....wow

Jred250 01-22-2006 01:39 PM

I have just made a Metallica forum. I am working on adding some other R&M features to the site but does anyone have any recommendations.. Are there any Metallica topics you particulary like

PepsiMetal 01-22-2006 01:48 PM

Well it would be cool for a metallica forum to have seperate categories for each band member. And I dont think i've seen one with this.

Jred250 01-22-2006 01:49 PM
Well it would be cool for a metallica forum to have seperate categories for each band member. And I dont think i've seen one with this.
Hmm I must admit I like it :chug:

currently we have a tour/genral tallica/albums section... as our main catagories but individual sections for members would be awesome.

Have a go of this Metallica thing its awesome... Click the link on the page its like a Metallica poll and it determines what band member you are.. ''The Link''

Does anyone know anything about advertising? a few people have found the site already... I am guessing they just put a random link in the address bar and came accross it... Hmmm

BLS_Infernus 01-22-2006 04:31 PM

be careful because you can get banned on this site for advertising

BLS_Infernus 01-22-2006 04:36 PM

James Hetfield 71%
Kirk Hammett 71%
Robert Trujillo 46%
Jason Newsted 42%
Dave Mustaine 33%
Cliff Burton 25%
Lars Ulrich 8%

Thank you for making me aware of that! I like the text above your avatar. Shows me you have watched SKOM. I am kinda hoping that they release temptation on the next album!

BLS_Infernus 01-22-2006 04:50 PM

me along with a few other my friend :thumb: that song, from what I heard, was freakin' amazing but it wouldn't have fit in with St. Anger but they could have released on a singles record

Kyle 01-22-2006 04:52 PM

James Hetfield 58%
Kirk Hammett 54%
Lars Ulrich 50%
Robert Trujillo 50%
