That's awsome. That's one of the things about smaller bands, they'll actually respond to any e-mails, and such.
Yep! Let's see, I'm in constant contact with:

Rob Mills - Razor's drummer
Bob Reid - Razor's vocalist
Vic ??? - Sauron's guitarist

And I've exchanged message board PM's with Gary Holt and Rick Hunolt of Exodus recently. :D

magicbus 08-05-2005 10:19 PM

What's wrong with black shirts? I have 3 now, and used to have some more. I also where a lot of other colors too, but I don't mind black. The stupid kind with those white lettered phrases suck though.

Illmatic 08-05-2005 10:19 PM

I agree with Jom. Wearing shirts that say frivolous shit like, "I'm not crazy, but the voices in my head think so!" are grounds for public humiliation.

I mostly just wear shirts with sports stuff on them /shrug

RiceMonster 08-05-2005 10:23 PM

Meh, I don't mind joke shirts, although some of them are just retarded.
So basically, my new job is amazing.
What do you do?

Steerpike 08-05-2005 10:28 PM

Many of them have been turned into cliches. Occassionally, you'll see one that isn't very common. One catalog I get used to feature a blue T-shirt with pine-tree logos on it that said, "Save the Trees! Wipe Your Ass with an Owl!" Not too bad as far as those sort of shirts go.

What I want is for people to stop pretending that shirts with jokes about mental illness make them edgy and cool. Why? Because I am fucking crazy! And all I have to do is look at people for them to know it.

I work at a music shop, and I am in charge of keeping the front counter stocked.

It's sooo laid back. Their is no dress code. We can listen to whatever music we want. We have AC. etc
Naturally dark?
I look like a sorcerer from the Dark Ages catapulted into the 21st century. I look good in black, and have a somewhat sinister face and voice.

I've been drawn to the occult and arcane since I was old enough to watch movies and have made it a hobby of mine throughout the years. I'm also officially nuts. My diagnosis for clinical depression is severe enough that my family recently discovered that it may make me elligible to receive healthcare coverage on medication for life. I'm drawn to controversy, secrests, mysticism, and the weird.

So it bothers me when I see little mall-core kiddies and scenesters trying to pretend to be dark, menacing, spooky, or whatever the hell it is they want to call themselves. They have absolutely no idea what it's like to live life like me and are just fitting the stereotype of what I like to call "Rebel Without a Clue."

The first time I saw that shirt, I got a good chuckle but now that I see it all the time, it isn't funny at all anymore. And yes, most people do just wear those shirts to be cool.

ATM 08-05-2005 10:34 PM
Lucky! I have to wear a white collared shirt with black pants when it's freaking 90 degrees outside. I get pretty toasty.. which is why I went out on a limb and just wore a white t-shirt.. no one said anything.

That's pretty cool though, I wish I could wear jeans and tshirts to work. That'd make it 10 times easier.
It's also really close to my house.

I left for work at 9:54 this morning and got there at 9:57 :-D

Well, you're not exactly someone I could see myself getting along with all that much, but a wise man once said "Different strokes for different folks", so keep on doin' your thing.

Steerpike 08-05-2005 10:40 PM
Maybe it's because you talk about having clinical depression like it's something cool.
Never meant to imply it was. I'm not cool for being dark and insane. That's just the way I am, so I don't feel any need to make apologies for it. What makes me cool is that I'm self-aware and don't try to hide it.

So I'm a twisted artist. Fine. I'll be a twisted artist. Got that taken care of. Next.

ATM 08-05-2005 10:41 PM

What's up with your avatar, man?

RCA 08-05-2005 10:44 PM

Steerpike is drunk, he's not really dark and twisted. Well, at the moment he might be. :p

Steerpike 08-05-2005 10:44 PM
You like to inform everyone how "dark" and "mysterious" you are. You sound like one of those kids who goes out of their way to seem a certain way to others. At least, that's the vibe I'm getting from you.
I admit, I'm a little vain. I have a flair for pageantry. I relish playing the part of the outspoken artist.

I usually trust on my friends to drag me down to earth when I start laying it on too thick, though.

ATM 08-05-2005 10:45 PM

Steerpike 08-05-2005 10:47 PM
Has your magic scored you any ass yet?
My only audience thus far has been co-workers. My dad and I are saving up for a street magic instructional DVD. Once I nail a few of those tricks, I'll test them out at a couple parties on campus and see what goes from there.

If nothing else, it'll help me come out of my shell a little better.

What's with the book ads at the top of the forum?

Endless Obsession 08-05-2005 10:57 PM

Im seriously thinking of pursuing some kind of future in competitive eating. I just tried to see how fast I could eat a PB&J and it took me 28 seconds. (two pieces of white bread, with jelly, and creamy peanut butter). I think thats pretty good.
What's with the book ads at the top of the forum?
Kingofdudes 08-05-2005 11:04 PM

they are google smart ads. What they advertise is dependant on what information is on the page.
