im not sure why you dont believe me. I was JUST there. The only way you COULD sit and "watch" the show is if you got tickets for the balcony, which arent "bad" seats per say...
Hey guys, can anyone give lyrics to The Pot? I haven't found them anywhere (neither in this thread)
Thx-Frop
That's the link Che posted. Some of the lyrics are jokes. Jambi's right, I think. The Pot's not on there.
http://www.metrolyrics.com/album/12493/2092414551/Tool-10,000-Days-lyrics

My interpretation of The Pot's lyrics. There's probably some errors but they're right for the most part.

The Pot

Who are you to wave your finger, you musta been out your head
Ankles deep in muddy water as you practically raise the dead
Rob the grave to snow the cradle and burn the evidence down
Soapbox house are cast in glass so don't toss your stones low down

You musta been high
You musta been high
You musta been

Foot in mouth and head on fire so what you talking about?
Difficult to dance around this one till you pull it out
Boy, you musta been so high
you musta been so high

Steel burrowed reaper save you, shady inference
Kangaroo court, hang the juror with the innocent
[line missing]
Now your're high. Now you piss all over my black meadow,
you musta been high
musta been high

And what are you to wave your finger? Stop fooling them.
My knees deep in muddy water forget imper..
Liar, liar, mirror show me, what's the difference?
Kangaroo ,hang the jury with the innocent.

Who are you to wave your finger
Who are you to wave your banner
Savior, you are guilty and so am I.

The liar, lawyer, mirror for you, what's the difference?
Kangaroo is as guilty as the government.
[line missing] pissed all over my black head oh
you musta been high
high
high
I walk deep in muddy water
My balls deep in muddy water
gouge up the lies you must have been held to mind.

Just think, if it is a decoy you'll be able to enjoy it as well as the real thing when it comes out. I highly doubt it's a decoy.

It's like when the real thing comes out, what are you gonna do with the old downloaded thing if they're completely different.

circlethedrain 04-20-2006 12:10 PM

I will be honest, I hated this album when I first heard it. After listening to the album 3 times through, I love it. It is not in the ranks of Aenima or Lateralus, but honestly what is? My favorite song is 10,000 days, it is 11:15 of awesome.

PepsiMetal 04-20-2006 12:12 PM

Drums on this album are very dissapointing. They're pretty generic beats compared with aenima or lateralus. :(

Bass and guitar are pretty good though. Songs will probably grow on me more.

kurrpt 04-20-2006 12:12 PM

circle, you are like the 5th guy to say that....

the more i HEAR people say that, the more it makes me disinterested in anyone else opinion

but im glad you like it :D

Dont be a stranger, spoiler dodging is easy still.

Im still waiting on news about the video. The only thing there isnt a release date for yet, and its killing me

I wouldn't call the beats generic at all.. But!.. I already posted that I think this album lacks catchy drumbeats, like schism, ticks and leeches, and most of lateralus the song

im anxious to DL it. It will suck on MTV, cause theres no way they would play a 7-11 minute video in any kind of rotation

Adam Jones is GOD 04-20-2006 12:17 PM

Well MTV2 in the UK has 120 metal minutes every friday night, and it plays every tool video made so far uncut, so ill be crossing my fingers that it appears this, or next friday.

It'll be on youtube in a matter of minutes after being aired/leaked thankfully. And I have no objection to downloading that instantly :)

yeah we are talking about people who changed the name of StinkFist and pulled the Video for Prison Sex.

ArC 04-20-2006 12:30 PM

I really enjoy 10,000 days.

Off the top of my head, my favorites so far are :

1. 10,000 Days
2. The Pot
3. Jambi
4. Vicarious
5. Right in Two

I love 10,000 days (Wings Pt. 2). It's ranking up there with some of my favorite Tool songs (Reflection, Pu**** [live], Opiate, ect).

It's funny how some people were talking about how hard it is to listen too with headphones. I had that same feeling. I listened to Wings for Marie and 10,000 days and had to take a break. It's just so haunting and heavy. Almost feels like it's burdening you.

The Pot is probably my most played song off it, simply because I love his vocals on it. The guitar parts are great too. Especially during the chorus, ("You must have been....HIGH").

I'm glad they pulled through with a great record (IMO). I think this'll be on I listen too for a long time. I'm officially giving Tool a thumbs up for this record.

Edit: Is someone going to review this on Sputnik soon? Or is everyone waiting for the official release? I'd like to read a full review that someone put some time into.

Shadius 04-20-2006 12:31 PM

Tool arn't quite as controversial as they were back then, so i'm sure this video won't even be slightly edited. Having said that, I could see some fairly controversial imagery to go along with this video when compared to the Lateralus videos. I hope it dosn't turn into some clips of the War in Iraq, but I'm sure Tool wouldn't do that.

Who wants to see a warped prosthetic man reading the news? I know I do!

Also, I still really hope the final mix dosn't change too much from the leaked version, I just don't want to get attached to something that changes. Assuming that it does change, and they don't leave timmy's voice in there.

Oh, and I'm not going to rate tracks yet, it's soooo early. Except like I said before, Intension seems weaker, along with Wings Part 1. They will probably be growers though, to be honest, most of the album is still growing, so it's so early.

Elfen Lied 04-20-2006 12:45 PM

disposition is the best it makes me think of winter and beautifull

ArC 04-20-2006 12:50 PM

Does anyone know who's voices those are (man and woman) on Lost Keys (Blame Hofman)? Is it from a movie, or a completely Tool thing? I got the crazy idea that the man's voice was Justin's, because of the accent. I base that on nothing, but it would be cool if it were true.

Also, I think Adam harmonizes on a couple songs (Wings for Marie, 10,000 Days, a few others I don't remember). Does anyone know if that is true or not, or if it is just Maynard?

I'm going to try and go to the Dallas show. The place seats about 2400 people, so I'm not sure how hard tickets are going to be to get. Has anyone ever tried to get tickets to a Tool show before? How hard are they to get?

I plan on getting online at 9:30am on Saturday and waiting for the ticket link to come up, so I should have as good a chance as anyone. I'll be buying 3-4 tickets though, so hopefully it all goes smooth. Anyone concerned about tickets selling out before they get a chance to go?

And one last thing...

On the website for the McFarlin Autitorium (in Dallas), they say that they only accept cash. (http://www.ticketmaster.ca/venue/98321). Does this mean there won't be an internet sale, and that only people in line in Dallas can get tickets? Sorry if that's a stupid question...but i'd like to cover all bases to make sure I go :) .

Rosetta Stoned is way weird but so kick *** at the same time. Trippy track.

Timmah! I watched some South Park the other day. uhm...'Scott Tenorman must die!'. I haven't watched SP in at least 2 years, so seeing this kind of comedy came as a bit of a shock. The ending to that episode is shocking:eek:

i really like the new song, what do you guys think?

kurrpt 04-20-2006 01:55 PM

has anyone else noticed the similees(sp) between the end of THE POT and stinkfist?

PepsiMetal 04-20-2006 02:04 PM

Right in Two and The pot are so far my faves. They're all growing on me slowly though.

Esoteric_Creator 04-20-2006 02:07 PM

Damn you all, and making want this CD even more..!

:smoke:

Through what you guys are talking about this album is bound to be interesting. So far I've dove into Vicarious, and had a 30 second teaser of Jambi, and I have to say that I'm impressed so far. Sure, Jambi is coming from left field in the realm of Tool, but it's going to be something to marvel over once I get the entire CD in my hands..
