My PC is working now, although the trojan is still on it in places so it'll probably need to be formatted soon. Why can't these bastard virus makers get a proper job.

6Stringer 05-30-2006 03:01 PM

I'm so happy I haven't gotten any viruses since last summer.

I had to go to school for 5 hours today due to I had a few detentions I did not serve.

Damn, I was thinking of doing that. Maybe I will still. Congratulations to YDload.

According to the BDO forums, this is the second Splendour annoucement:

Saturday:

josh pike
pete murray
expatrate
gerling
n-funk
van she
andrew morris
Nfa from 1200 techniques
Bang Gang DJ's
Love bus

Sunday:

Something for Kate
Dungen
TZU
Mogwai
Lior
Moz def
The Predators

Dungen and Mogwai hooray. I'm not too fussed about anything else on there, but the lineup is so awesome already.

pixiesfanyo 05-30-2006 06:22 PM

i told you i was doing it br3ad.

br3ad_man 05-30-2006 06:26 PM

YDload 05-30-2006 11:06 PM

This is it, according to Time Off.

Saturday
Something For Kate, Dungen, TZU, Raz Bin Sam & The Lion I Band, Mogwai, Bob Evans, Lior, Angus & Julia Stone, Mos Def, The Predators, Tex Perkins and friends and DJ sets by Pnau (club mode), Funk Trust and DJ Scoota

Sunday
Pete Murray, Expatriate, Josh Pyke, Gerling, N’FA, Van She, Andrew Morris, The Love Bus and DJ sets by Bang Gang, Ajax and DJ Scoota

Not much more worth seeing. Mogwai, Mos Def, Expatriate should be worth catching though. All in all it should be a good weekend.

br3ad_man 05-31-2006 04:00 AM

I'm thinking the same + Dungen. Seriously, Mogwai are more than enough to make that announcement good. Too bad the Eels aren't doing it, but whatever, the lineup owns. I can't wait.

blueyxd 05-31-2006 04:13 AM

heh I know a guy called Andrew Morris, pretty sure it's not the same one on that list, though. I'd like to see Mogwai some time but festivals aren't really my thing.

so... uh...
/post

br3ad_man 05-31-2006 04:22 AM

They're playing The Zoo man. I think it's $40.

blueyxd 05-31-2006 04:50 AM

Mmm, $40 isn't really my thing either. I don't even know when this is, July?
http://www.mogwai.com/ didn't have any useful info...
http://www.mogwai.co.uk was better. ok July 21

I wonder if Decoder Ring would get the support act, they are the closest Aus group I've heard to Mogwai

I Was A Kaleidoscope 05-31-2006 05:30 AM

Yet another good band skips Adelaide.
Apparently Wolf Eyes are coming here, baha.
That'd be...deafening?

YDload 05-31-2006 02:34 PM

Hooray I am now an Alt/Indie mod :)

But they moved Politics and Sports away from being Pit subforums so I no longer have control over them :(

Eels would have been rad.

I haven't listened to much Mogwai yet. Maybe I should do that before Splendour happens. Same goes for Sonic Youth.

http://magazine-directory.com/Guitar-World.htm

You can nominate your top 5 guitar albums of all time for Guitar World magazine's poll. Don't tell the R&M kiddies because we wanna get Marquee Moon on this list before they fill it up with Metallica and Pantera!

JonM 05-31-2006 06:18 PM

I'm starting work on a comic book concept rap album tonight. I'm excited and intrigued.

You definitely should. Though Sonic Youth will probably just play a lot of new stuff.
Hooray I am now an Alt/Indie mod :)
Congrats YDload. It's about time we got that other mod.. although we're usually on good behavior ;)

JonM 06-01-2006 11:06 AM

Congrats YD.

Yo check it out. The comic book/album is just going to be a concept for a cartoon. It's called Crunk Nebula (website coming soon). It's about a posse of intergalactic rap star aliens (and one robot) who roll around the galaxy looking for crunk things to do, make music, get in rap battles, bust caps, pick up females, and stay straight up on that kryptonite. We've basically designed the principal characters, and we've made a couple beats that are going to be the soundtrack to the website probably by tonight. It's goin down.

sweboy 06-01-2006 01:54 PM

"crunk things to do"? Oh, I'm there fo' sho'.

Sam 06-01-2006 02:35 PM

Yea, I'm not sure if I'm gonna see them on the 15th for this reason.

Zmev 06-01-2006 05:18 PM
