I haven't heard it, but I love Hey Joe. (was playing it earlier)

I was playing it yesterday. I have a Hendrix Greatest Hits Cd and I tried going through and playing all the songs. All Along The Watchtower and Little Wing proved to difficult to learn on the spot though.

I really wanna learn Little Wing but I get so lazy once I start learning it I just give up.

I believe The Wind Cries Mary is probably my favorite Hendrix song to play, even though I don't know all of it and usually start improvising around the solo. I'd like to learn All Along The Watchtower, but I can't find a decent tab and I always give up.

yeah, I tried learning that song too. It has some difficult phrasing.

thickasabrick 03-04-2005 06:37 PM

Ya I love playing The Wind Cries Mary. I usually can't be bothered to learn a solo, I just improvise and I can usually make it sound pretty close just by matching up certain notes. Purple Haze is the only Hendrix solo I've ever actually bothered learning, it wasn't too hard anyways and I was playing it for a show.

And I can send you that song Thunderstruck (or however you spell your name). What's your AIM?

The Hendrix song I enjoy playing the most on the drums is Fire. BUt I like jamming with any of his songs, Mitch Mitchell is such a great drummer.

Every body jus listen man, GNR are the greatest rockers of all time. the beatles are cool and so are the who but GNR jus rock. Axl despite being a dickhead is blatently the greatest frontman of all time. Slash's solos cant be beaten and i mean c'mon Duff McKagan, hes amazing.

GNR Rule, and in my eyes they founded rock in the 80's. :thumb:

Badmoon 03-04-2005 07:01 PM

Duff is maybe a little better than mediocre, and many can out play Slash. As far as Axl...ewww.

You hear that?

That distinct sound off in the distance?

That's the sound of you being wrong.

Okay, so you're saying Axl is better than Robert Plant, Mick Jagger, and Roger Daltry.

Pish-Posh!

To be honest, Plant and Jagger, possibly. Now Daltrey, no,

Did he do anything after Experience?

Why?

If you ever spend time in the Guitar forum (Though, I don't usually post, I look around a lot), "Little Wing" covers come in ever 5 minutes. I wouldn't be surprised if there were at least two on the first page.

And during gym class, my gym teacher plays it all the time.

I don't spend time in the Guitar Forum. I have long given up guitar.

And is your gym teacher some kind of burnout?

A burnout who demands respect, and favors swimmers. :(

Well I was watching Friday Night Lights and a guy was wearing a DSOTM shirt. I respected him.

Anyone heard of Little Feat? They have 2 shows on nugs, and I'm giving it a listen now. They're really good, and I'm fairly sure they'd be classified as classic rock. The show's from '73.

Hehe exactly. Even me. That's why I respected him, because if i didn't I wouldn't respect myself or Floyd.

I've heard of Little Feat. Have one of their albums too.

wanton 03-04-2005 07:46 PM

Lets talk about On The Beach again. My favorite tracks are the last two; the harmonica rules in Motion Pictures.

Great band, also one of the earlier Jam Bands along side the Dead and the Allmans. Lowell George (Guitarist/singer) played with Zappa and produced Shakedown Street.

Mmm...Shakedown Street, I'm gonna have to give that a listen after this.

Any recommendations?
