if you dont want a leak, then **** off slightly confuzzled sea lion and spend your hard earned walmart money on tool sipping glasses of expensive wine.
Huh? I despise leaks because they're often poor quality, don't contribute to the band, and I like the anticipation of waiting for the album. I didn't mean to piss anyone else off.

Also, I don't work at wal-mart, because I'm not from the US.

toocool4tool 04-20-2006 02:59 AM

You guys are so judge judy, you can rate albums when you have never even made one yourselves. You will assume all that you want but you will not realize that it does not matter to the artist. Your opinion is dust and it should be kept under the feet.

Then if you despise leaks. Cut off your fingers.

Riva 04-20-2006 03:02 AM

What's your problem?

The listener has no reason to make an album first to judge anything, just like you can read a book and say 'this is bad' without having written a full-length novel yourself. It doesn't matter what the artist thinks of a piece once it's out in public. No opinion is dust when it's about something that's put out and will inherently be judged, even one as stupid and misguided as yours.

toocool4tool 04-20-2006 03:09 AM

The album explains that you are all just like maynards mother was. A paraplegic waiting for God to kill you and send you to heaven. Quit judging others and acting like you know anything.

toocool4tool 04-20-2006 03:12 AM

That is how you havent gone beyond the way of thinking we are at now. If you haven't put out a novel and went further who the F.U.C.K. are you to take away from someone who has thrown their two cents in. Accumilating "change" without stealing from the pile and you will gain true wealth.

You don't have to worry about poor quality on this one. Only thing that's annoying is the 2 seconds of silence at the end of each song.

I've deleted those 2 seconds of silence on each song now.

denboy 04-20-2006 03:47 AM
What's your problem?
Can't you just ban him? heh

And if you dislike leaks of bad quality, then I wouldn't recommend getting this one, it's not a perfect rip, and it doesn't seem fully mixed, actually

Riva 04-20-2006 04:40 AM

No matter how bad the user, anytime a mod bans someone he was arguing with, you can hear the cries of "power abuse" echoing from the rooftops.

And besides, I've been called worse. I was curious more than anything.

denboy 04-20-2006 04:53 AM

A shame you can't ban users for being annoying.. Hehe
I cried during Wings for Marie Pt. II guys.
I didn't cry, but I had this odd little half tear, and after the song was finished I noticed it.

Maynards vocals were moving. His voice seriously turned him into a spiritual leader in a native American tribe, and we were in some cave. It was quite cool for a musical experience, in some dark marshy forest.

That 2cool4tool guy is hilarious psuedo-intellectual condescending tool fan steriotype 101, such irony.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. You don't have to remind people that some of us are informed while others arn't, ESPECIALLY in the way you're doing it. You come accross as a complete social reject loser who needs to tell people on the internet off because of some deep hidden chilhood problems.

I can comment on music, as I am a musician. Non-musicians can also comment on music; ones who listen a lot, or ones that don't, everyone is capable of producing a valid opinion within the context of what they know. I don't have to write a book to comment on it, I've written stories before, I now how to use the English language appropriately, etc.

Edit: Much love to the editing system ^

So now Maynard went from a face-slapping black singer in the Pot, to a spiritual leader in a native American tribe...
Funny man.

10 000 days(wings pt. 2) still reminds me of Madonna- Frozen. Check that music video out. Reminds me of a dry sand plateau...

Shadius 04-20-2006 07:01 AM

We're so emo.

lolz.
A shame you can't ban users for being annoying.. Hehe
You can ban them for spamming, though, and I don't know why Riva didn't do that.

So....what do Tool fans think of the new album?

Shadius 04-20-2006 07:05 AM

In short; it will be a grower, and its not what you'll expect, but there are some amazing moments (maybe just good ones) even from the first listen.

You'd better like effect laden talkbox too, or it might ruin Jambi for you as it seems to have done some people. Personally I love it though, Adams guitar has never been closer to being alive and talking.

denboy 04-20-2006 07:05 AM

Timmayh!

Maynards all over the place on the album man!

He's like a different person each song practically!

I'll check that video out later today too.

clearvision 04-20-2006 07:42 AM

The new taking back sunday CD leaked today. After listening i'm left with a smile, but there again i was already singing along with the choruses on first listen. It feels so much more fulfilling than listening to 10k days first time, but in a months time am i still going to be as fulfilled...

Basically the TBS was much easier to absorb. The question is, would i have wanted tools record to be the same?

Well yes an no, i suppose there is still much more to be discovered in tools album. But the dissapointment after the first listen was so crushing. How could i have got around it? Maybe i could have listened to individual tracks more, like when i heard vicarious in the album i felt at home, then it was a 70minute journey into the unknown. With a vast album such as this it was very hard to stay focused, especially as the music does seem to lose focus at some points, at the start of WFM (wins for marie...my new abbreviation hehe) for example.

But anyways i was just musing, I'm enjoying the album alot more now. But i still think it lacks flow and focus at some points. Though at others it's tool close to their best...

Any thoughts on this decoy/double album theory that's getting thrown around lots. I don't believe any of it, but some arguments to seem a little logical. The name 'right in two'. The fact there are 2 different albums on amazon. The appearance of that 10000 years album on amazon. And of course the way this album doens't quite feel 'complete' especially ending with vigniti tres...

kurrpt 04-20-2006 07:44 AM

1. that user really wasnt that bad. The elitists in here are MORE of a pita than he

2. If you want to exercise "restraint" thats fine, as far as waiting for the album till its release date. Just know that its your own spin on the situation and has no bearing towards anyone else, i.e. we dont give a flying fuk

3. If you hear any of the TOoL albums (minus Opiate) theres always those "filler" tracks that dont appeal to everyone (including me). I will say i love the "message to harry manback" and the piano bit before Jimmy

edit to clear vision : "that sounds like a PERSONAL problem!"

i love this album since i've heard Vicarious for the first time

Shadius 04-20-2006 07:55 AM

Yeah, the moaning about the filler tracks was odd, is this the same Tool we're talking about? Did people not realise what they do on every album? hehe

Oh, yeah Che, the piano in Message is so nice, my girlfriend learnt it, if I ever put Ænima on when we're together and want to skip it she tells me off.

To be honest, I think the filler tracks on 10,000 Days are the better ones they've done. They're all music that flows with the album... whereas before we had Mantra.. weird noise, and other musical-ish tracks that didn't flow and were just quirky, not to mention the filler segments on Undertow were terrible. CRICKETS?!?

As for this album being a decoy? I'd really say bollocks to that, though I agree there may be something weird going on with that 10,000 Years thing, and it's always possible Tool are planning something special, ie: Some kind of DVD release, a double album (I wish!), some bonus material or something.

And Tool has almost never been music that is gratifying on the first listen... to me anyway. I didn't even like Stinkfist all that much when I first heard it. Taking back Sunday will get old... at best, you might find a gem or two that you like for a bit longer, but with a band like that I can't see you liking their songs for the next few years, like you can with Tool stuff.

kurrpt 04-20-2006 08:00 AM

TOoL always had songs to me that stood out right away, and sleeper tracks that grew on me. Im not sure if thats because i had a different view of music, since i didnt play an instrument till 2 years ago...

but yea, this is basically the same shizz over again

edit : i initially hated message to harry manback until i heard the live version (on Salival)

live situations change a lot for me. another example would be the vanishing by APC. I hated it/skipped it until i saw it live. Now, i wont listen to that album without giving it my attension

Shadius 04-20-2006 08:05 AM

Sometimes live you can see where the bands coming from more with the song, and appreciate it better.

I was like that with Muse's Space Dementia.

It could still be possible for a decoy album. That would rock actually, because this is an amazing album!:p

As for the 10 000 years story. I noted this first a few months ago and everyone just ignored it...
Well, I'd say, concidering the price, that it could possibly be the dvd, or maybe even a double album. But that could just as easily be a false listing. Guess we'll just have to wait and see...

About the filler tracks...I don't mind them, it's just I don't listen to them.

I only got into Tool after a lot of listens. My brother played me The Grudge first and I was just like ' uhhh...no....nonono...'. (I was quite the idiot back then). But after listening to it for a couple of times. I got it.

heh, I only started listening to Disposition/Reflection/Triad this year!
:ashamedlol:

kurrpt 04-20-2006 08:12 AM

Triad eclipses 90% of Lateralus imo. Always love that song :thumb:
