yeah, but a lot of hip-hop acts suck live.
Yeah, Wu Tang weren't very good when I saw them.

Some neat bands coming to this festival, maybe I'll go. Radiohead and DJ shadow sounds good to me, for example.

sweboy 05-23-2006 12:55 PM

For a festival with such a hysterical name as "pukkelpop", that is a really bad ass line up.

dei 05-23-2006 01:02 PM

I could get you backstage to meet, uh, AM Radio.

FA 05-23-2006 01:03 PM

Ugh, Radiohead.

JonM 05-23-2006 01:17 PM

Ugh, people who say "ugh, Radiohead."

Hah, yeah, it's a quality festival. Almost always great line ups, usually pretty varied.

pixiesfanyo 05-23-2006 02:42 PM

Yeah, TMV played pukkelpop in '03 I believe.

I'd be interested in going to it.

superpeer 05-23-2006 06:28 PM

Possibly, yeah. They were supposed to be at Werchter (another big Belgian festival) in 2005 it was, I think. Maybe 2004. But they cancelled.

I saw Pukkelpop footage that's how I know they played there.
You Say Party! We Say Die!
Wow, I always remeber seeing them opening for other local bands and talking with my friends about how awesome their name was. Now they're like... big... and playing festivals in Europe. Cool.

dei 05-23-2006 09:08 PM

You Say Party! We Say Die!

I remember them. A fat dude with glasses (he is indie as ****) told me about them and I thought they were all right. Reminded me of Pretty Girls Make Graves, who I've seen once with said fat dude.

Kyle 05-24-2006 06:13 AM

Yay, Dinosaur Jr rocked last night. Like usual, the gig was saturated with technical difficulties, but they played such a great set that it didn't matter.

Lateralus review.
That was a good review. I actually like that album, but your opinion of it was still justified.

Glitterati 05-24-2006 09:02 PM

It's pitchfork, what the f'uck do you expect.

ATM 05-25-2006 04:52 PM

I've been browsing Pitchfork lately. I had never actually looked at the site before.

pixiesfanyo 05-25-2006 07:49 PM

Anyone else watching HEAVY on VH1.

YDload 05-25-2006 07:55 PM

I watched a couple episodes of it, but I keep missing them. I want to watch the whole series!

Did they completely gloss over the Maiden/Priest era of the early 80s? It seems like they keep defining hard rock bands as metal, so their idea of history is "Led Zeppelin -> KISS -> AC/DC -> hair metal." I don't think that's very accurate at all!

pixiesfanyo 05-25-2006 08:05 PM

Yeah.

Now they have Marilyn Manson and somethign about the Columbine tradegy up.

This is like when they did the history of hip-hop and didn't say anythign about Tribe.

YDload 05-25-2006 08:19 PM

Well they interviewed Rob Halford and Bruce Dickinson. Didn't those guys sense anything strange when nobody asked them about their place in metal history?

YDload 05-26-2006 12:15 AM

Nobody notices Maiden or Priest because they don't do anything particularly newsworthy. Although putting out albums and regaining the same lineup they had twenty years ago should be commendable!
