By the way, I was going to quote your old post about listening to Tommy in the womb. I'm 16 and like 7 months, so I've been listening to Tommy since I was 7 months old. |

I was looking through my dads cds and I found a cd that had Jonny Winter doing a cover of Highway 61 Revisited. It was great.
Do you know what kind of pickups your guitar has? If I'm gonna buy an amp, I might change the pickups, I like Tex Mex's, but I've heard DiMarzios (spelling?) sound cool as well.
Olympic White is beautiful, it looks like a virgin.
Dimarzio pickups are nice, but I would recommend getting Lindy Fralins if you plan on replacing your pickups. Lindy Fralins are very high quality pickups, and reasonably priced. My strat is a cream bodied strat with a cool red pickguard (if anyone has seen the SRV DVD that came with the box set, it looks like that one he played after the string broke on his main guitar.) I have texas specials for all three pickups, but I'm about to replace my bridge with a Lindy Fralin steel pole 43. What guage strings do you all use? I have 12's on right now, but I might go back down to 11's. |
I have a dire straits greatest hits already, so most the songs are on their from Brother in arms; same goes for the eagles CD.
Im downloading them now. I really need to get an mp3 player to get all this music off my computer. |
The Dire Straits are pretty awesome, Mark Knopfler is a really good guitarist
|
I think my string is an 11. 10's broke to easily. I just have the default American Strat strings on now though.

Yea Winter is the man. I have another cd of him jamming with Hendrix |
The Dire Straits are pretty awesome, Mark Knopfler is a really good guitarist
He's such a great technique player. Everything he does is so smooth, he's definitly one of my favorite guitarists. Plus he's badass with that headband and playing with no pick ;) |

He is quite smooth. Sometimes, I find, playing w/out a pick is easier sometimes |
the best part about Mark Knopfler is that sound from his guitar its so original and sounds amazing and mix that with his amazing talent he is a great
|
Mark Knopfler is defintaly in my top 10 guitarist. Im planning on learning Sultans of Swing on guitar very soon...but am debating. It may be too much of a challenge for me.

I didn't think so... I like that one song though, very cool, "Incense and Peppermints"
o come on man, you didn't even give me a chance to answer. I like a few of their songs. |
I haven't heard much Dire Straits. My dad likes them so maybe he's got some of their stuff.
I think I have 9's and 12's. |
I don't like the black and white strat.
It's too generic for me. But, there's this one color on strats that I absolutly love. I'll find a pic hang on. Edit: http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0101400752 But a different color fretboard.
No, that fretboard looks great on that guitar. :)
This thread doesn't move as fast as it used to.
It's 'cause you spend to much time spamming in the community thread. |
Mark Knopfler is one of the badarsest (wtf?) guitarists ever.

Grateful Dead Recommendation of the Week
------------------------------------------ Grateful Dead - He's Gone The song is about Mickey Hart's father, Lenny Hart. Who was the groups financial manager (And also one of the top competiton drummers during his time) during the late 60's and early seventies. In time, the Dead grew comfortable with their manager. Ironically, Lenny Hart then ran off with a large portion of their money. Which ultimatley put Mickey in a terrible depression, which is why he left the Grateful Dead for a few years. The group states that they in no way blamed Mickey for his father's actions, by the way. It gives off to famous Dead lines. "Steal your face right off your head" and "Nothing left to do but smile, smile smile". The metaphors and such are really interesting. You guys should check it out. It is only played live, also. |

They're okay. I don't see what is so special about them, like The Zombies.
|
I like them, they kind of a Doorish sound
|
My AIM is rockshowguy56. Thanks :thumb:
I guess the amp is 15 Watts. And I didn't really try out many different strats. I knew I wanted the American, because I was looking for a quality better than the Standard, but I didn't want to pay more than the price of the American. So basically I went with that. I was originally going for an Olympic White strat, but this one I bought was used, and sunburst is very cool too. So I took it. I mean check this out: http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0155102880 It looks so pure!
i didnt know they made a robin trower signature. anyone else a fan of him?
They're okay. I don't see what is so special about them, like The Zombies.
i like the zombies because i think their songwriting is good and their singer has a badass voice. |
