What song is that?

They can make or break a person so I wouldn't really feel sorry them.

Grandpa's Interview I really forgot how cool this album was until just now, I think I will go listen to it again |
They can make or break a person so I wouldn't really feel sorry them.
Yeah a lot of artists owe their success to the media. The reason a lot of good artists never broke into the mainstream was because no one knew about them. The media can be helpful for introducing an artist to the world...but after a couple years of being famous no one needs the media anymore and eventually they just get very resentful of it. |
I think the biggest concern is with the 24 hour news networks, and how sensationalistic, corporate, pro-Bush and entertainment-based they are
|
That was a good album. He kind of slowed down after Harvest Moon but now he's back.
*broken arrow was ok. |
His work with Buffilo Springfield was the best in my opinion, but not as good as Harvest, that album is a hybrid of all good folk rock.
|
Meh, Harvest is ok. Its a good place to start. Right now I'm digging Ragged Glory alot. Its more like grungy country stuff with lots of electric guitar stuff. It was one of his most influencial albums of the 90's.
|
Have you guys seen the video of the guy playing While My Guitar Gently Weeps on the ukulele? It's so good.

Yea, I put it in the Beatles thread. |
Went to see Santana w/Los Lonely Boys last night. It was insane. LLB's mix wasn't the best (too much drums, not enough bass) but their playing was great. Of course, Santana had about 20 people onstage and they were all incredible at their instruments.
This reminds me of a joke: How do you say "How far to heaven?" in Spanish? Samba Pa Ti. :D I slay me |
I'd wanna see Santana. Does he play songs from throughout his whole career? Or does he only do more recent songs except for the occasional classic?
|
Santana is great. He has played with everybody. He's the collaboration whore. I'd love to see him, his tone amazes me.

Yeah he's got great tone. Anyone know what kind of amps he uses? |
I believe he uses Mesa, Fender and Marshall.

Fun thing to try:

That's a really, really long link. Cool though :thumb:

I only have about 25 right now, but it's fun to keep looking.

Is the full-size image not displaying for you?
Is it true Paul McCartney is turning 63 sometime soon? If that's true, I'm excited for when he turns 64. There's gotta be some sort of celebration going on worldwide.
I was just thinking about that the other day. Awesome link Lunch, I found quite a few. |
I ended up with around 33, there's some things I just can't place.

I just got a copy of Wheels of Fire in vinyl for a buck at my guitar teacher's garage sale. It's a bit scratchy in parts, but it's definitely worth it for just one or two of the good songs. Goodness knows I have enough copies of White Room lying around in different forms that I don't need the copy on the one I just bought. Heh.
Oh and guys, I just found this. http://www.cs.cf.ac.uk/Dave/MclaughlinBook/ Mahavishnu Orchestra music book. Looks pretty cool. Can any of you vouch for its accuracy? I think I'll save all that stuff to my computer (so I don't lose it) if it's good. |
That looks pretty accurate, but I'm sure it's hard as hell to play.
|
I just bought
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King It's amazing, i really like it |
Could someone upload some Mahavishnu Orchestra for me? I heard some at my friend's house today and it was pretty good.
|

What did you hear?
|
That looks pretty accurate, but I'm sure it's hard as hell to play.
Hard as hell is right. I'm probably more interested in checking out chord progressions. My skill level isn't, and won't be anytime soon, at John's level. Heh. |
What did you hear?
I don't remember. |
I don't remember.
 I understand. So that's why it sounded so good ;) |
