idk they definitely aren't the same but i'd totally call mineral closest to sdre. some mineral riffs sound so much like sunny day. what you say is true though they are more twinkly. but like if you took sdre, stripped down the production a ton, made it a little sloppier, had out of tune vocals...
**** would just be mineral i think... i haven't listened to either in a while though so i am just basing this off of ideas i harbor from like months and months ago... or something |
never could get into any of those midwest bands, unless the appleseed cast counts but I prefer their later material that doesn't resemble midwest stuff as much
@matt honestly I find SDRE to be a lot more radio friendly (verse/chorus/verse) in their structure, whilst Mineral are more progressive and climax-focused. I don't hear two awfully similar bands. but I guess I understand what you're aiming at.
i get that... sdre is WAY more radio friendly. probably why i like them more at this point... although i would've adamantly opposed that a year ago.
the choruses are still there for mineral. all the best mineral songs have awesome catchy verse/chorus/verse structure. i'd say mineral is like for sure influenced by sunny day, and i think they sound really similar but i agree, there are still things that set them apart for sure. |
yeah well I guess we can appreciate both bands for what they are. personally I'm for Mineral. Unfinished is too good.
i feel like i love a lot of songs by both but they both have songs that i think suck so much.
spence these extra peel session tracks are ill
I'll upload them for you. Best rendition of Reel Around The Fountain on it. |
OKAy, so i do like the new faithealer. The production kinda bothers me at times because the mix is so soft, but I still dig.
I think I heard it, but I was on xanax at the time so I'm not even sure if I really listened to it or not.
New Faithealer rules so0o0o0o0o0o0o0o muCh

i've been listening to girl talk exclusively for 3 weeks now, WHY IS HE SO GOOD
because youre a pretentious hipster, derp
yeah true i just wish he mashed up more shitty black metal
because he's from pittsburgh.
k? |
west pa is a bunch of homos
funny thing about that.
you're a bunch of homos |
daaaaawwwwwg :(
don't start what you can't finish.
i wanna know where he gets all his samples from
yeah but i swear he isolates other samples besides vocals and beats, guitar parts, etc.
Girl Talk is tight and for some reason I get **** for listening to him sometimes.
he's way overhyped, so people are prone to hating on him. I just thought he was okay when I got Night Ripper last year and never really gave Feed The Animals a chance but like a couple weeks ago something just clicked and I think ive listened to like 200 tracks in the last week. Seeing him live prob had something to do with it, his live show is INSANE
