Too true. Have you seen that Cravinov guy around? The "animosity" between me and him ht an all-time high tonight. It was pretty bad before Med deleted our comments. All because I tried to explain what [U]real[/U] black metal was.

Geez, sometimes someone just wants to vent...it never kills me to listen to my gf or any of my friends blow off some steam every now and then. It's really not a big deal, and I really can't see why you can't be bothered with it.

Me and him started arguing in the newest Cradle of Filth review. He kept insisting that they were black metal, I said they weren't, some guy said "if ur so HxC then why dont u give us a definition of real black metal", so I did, and then Cravinov started making smartass comments about me.

He was banned and our comments deleted, so there's no traces of that argument unfortunately. We also started arguing in one of his reviews, but I stopped talking before it got any worse. It could've gotten pretty bad as he referred to me as "a jerk-off CoB fanboy".

Do you remember how obnoxious I was earlier this year when I was posting whole rants seemingly every day? I looked back and saw what an insufferable little pain in the [size=2]a[/size]ss I had been. So I try to avoid that these days.

As I said, there's a difference between bitchiness and having real problems to work through. If I feel the need to bitch, I just think outloud alone for a few minutes working through each grievance and what I can do to fix it. No one wants to hear my complain and whine, so I'm not going to force it down their throat.

As I said, it's only when people make a habit out of it that bothers me. We all have really bad days. But I don't need to hear about how the vending machine was out of Reese's or how the guy at Starbucks didn't make eye contact with you.

If you got fired from your job, got stiffed on a paycheck, or someone you thought was your friend did something completely uncouth, that's something I have no problem with you wanting to get off your chest.

But in my experience, most people allow their complaints to snowball. They end up thinking I'm a captive audience and they can air every little grievance whenever, regardless of how appropriate it is to the situation. If I'm in a really good mood, I don't want to hear things like that. I'd much rather do something fun, and they're certainly welcome to join me if they'd like to brighten their day.

Okay, gave it some thought. I was right about one thing: I was painting myself into a huge friggin' douchebag.

The line from earlier, I've never said it in full seriousness. What I said afterward was the just the product of my suddenly sour attitude at the realization I had a test coming up and the campus in covered in very dangerous ice I'd have to cross on foot. So naturally, I got into one my usual moods and started shooting my mouth off.

God, I really need to stop doing this sh[size=2]i[/size]t.

The truth is, whenever I say things like the much-quoted line tonight, I say it as a joke, trying to get whoever is having that bad day to cheer up and realize that there are more productive ways of brightening up the day, and I'm perfectly willing to help in that regard.

So no, I'm not a bad guy. I just need to think more before I open my trap.

I never thought you were a bad guy. We all have those moments. Take me for instance; earlier I was thinking of how my grades are terrible, my exams are going to be impossible, and that this year's grades are probably the most importent regarding college. I also forgot about the two major papers I had to write tonight, one of which I am still writing right now.

I wanted to kill myself.

The result was a terrible flame-war that started in sputnik and carried over to the mx forums. Because of the things I said, one user was banned, and will probably hate me for the rest of his time here. But it was just one of those times. I'm not always like that; I was just brooding too much on the terrible things at hand.

Sometimes I think I need help.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Sure, people have different perspectives on handling things, but I think everyone here is mature and able enough to at least read and respect opinions of others without calling them out on it. For what it's worth, I agree with you on a lot of things regarding this. Not everything, but most. I would try to emulate what I perceive as your successes. I didn't read your comments and feel slighted or disparaged or insulted or whatever by them because I agree/thought they were funny. Others who disagree don't mirror your thoughts and go on his or her merry way. It's all good. Everybody wins.
