Strange, I've just written my first piece of Poetry.
Its up for critique, called Journal's End, if any of you guys wanna give it a run over.

I love the imagery in Red Roses, but its so sad. Really is quite a powerful one, that. Especially the last stanza, incredibly written, really.

i love reading/writing poetry, as i find it much more rewarding and interesting than song lyrics, which, for me, depend too much on a musical backdrop. granted, there are some writers whose work stands on its own without the music, but for the majority, without a setting for their lyrics, the words become a bit stale and one-dimensional

I prefer to make my writing musical.

i have a severe lack of musical (or at least melodic) ability. so I'm slightly hindered on that front

In a sense, you are basically writing music anyway, since words are sounds. :)

valid point, and music and poetry were birthed together. the first poems were sung, and the first songs became poetry.

I don't know if anyone's noticed, but just about ALL of my stuff is poetry... not lyrics, no matter how synonymous they are.

all my stuff is poetry/lyrics.

i make no difference.

I love that joshmay wants to be more active again. I love his writing and his ideas for the forum are always good ones.

Burton already made a thread with Nick about getting a new mod in S&L. They both nominated myself, but mx has yet to comment on it.

It is indeed nice to know such thing.

And it is nice to get a moderatorer and stuff.

I've got:

tojesdolan 2-1 because he knows what he's doing

slack 7-2 rank outsider. but you never know.

There probably won't be any new modding for a while so I wouldn't stress about it

I told you the mods (just Subtle really) are reluctant about adding another mod

I just told you, that there's a thread concerning a new mod that Burt and Nick both agree on.

It's just the acutal staff of MX that has to get around to doing it.

I think the modding is sufficient for now, especially since Burt came back and whatnots.....
