Stronger than cotton thread.

Nerdcore753 09-29-2005 06:01 PM

I made a Frank Zappa shirt not that long ago (I might add pictures in the future).
I'm also planning on putting a Decepticon logo on the right sleeve of my hoodie. Also, I want to make a Crucifucks shirt that says "Democracy Spawns Bad Taste" that has "Cruci" on the bottom of one sleeve and "fucks" on the other [that way I'll have to be in a "crucified" position for people to read the name (man, I'm a genious)]. I want to think of some other thing to put on it before I do it, though.

I know this has been asked countless times, but I sard.

What kind of paint would be good for leather? Acrylic maybe? And what would you suggest I use to make the stencils?

skankthenspank 10-01-2005 06:49 AM

Me and my freind painted her leather jacket with tempra paint I think it was called, it worked pretty well but the blue didn't show up very well on the black leather. And by the way that stencil website is really good, is there any way i can get the stencil designs onto paper by like tracing it because I dont have a printer?

Skidmark Steve 10-01-2005 09:02 AM

i made a DKM shirt with this logo on it:

I tried making a SLAYER stencil by tracing a logo and cutting with an exactco knife, d'amn hard. But, that was probably easier than most, most of it is just straight lines. The hardest thing is cutting things that are close together.
If you're spray painting, be sure to hold the can a considerable distance from the stencil, the air will push the stencil up and will ruin it.

I got all my fabric paint from michaels. Not a indepdent place, but a whole lot better then Wal Mart's community destroying antics
They look good and get your lazy self sewing.
Back patches are such a pain, I just had my mom use her machine on my last one. Maybe I'll do this one soon, and try not to stab myself like I did last time, since you have to use so much force sewing denim.

if you get thick photo paper instead of regular paper you can just cut it, regular paper will slide around a lot or rip sometimes

I just made a stencil from a Banksy. I'll have to freehand the flowers. I can't wait to put this on something.

Banksy is cool except for the fact that innocent animals were used as subjects for his artwork!

Yeah, one blemish doesn't really lessen my opinion of him though. I mean I'm sure a lot of good artists eat meat.

/ends any progression into animal rights debate as to not ruin my favorite thread.
