I never even got into Illmatic, so I'm not gonna bother with Stillmatic.
There's two awesome songs on Illmatic, the rest is eh. NP: Raekwon - Wu-Gambinos |
Hahaha, funny you mentioned that. My friend sent me that song awhile ago, explaining to me what it was. Right now I'm really just listening to Bone Thugs, AZ, Nas, and Big L so I haven't had time to download any Jay-Z. Big L is probably one of my current favorite, even though his rhymes are pretty digusting sometimes, haha.

And Life's a Bitch, The Worlds is Yours, One love, Halftime, Memory Lane, Represent, N.Y State of mind all rule, so wtf @ you, Jelle.
|
NY State of Mind and Represent.
Wu-Tang fo life, baby. |
I dont like the Blueprint. I'm a Reasonable Doubt fan.
I'm the opposite tbh. I never got into Reasonable Doubt besides the first three tracks.
NY State of Mind and Represent.
DJ Premier fan eh? |
I find that 36 Chambers isn't even that good anymore. Tearz is the only thing I really listen to now.
|
I burnt out on 36 Chambers. At the moment, I prefer both Liquid Swords and Cuban Linx.
|
Do you like Bone Thugs, Jono? I honestly cannot stop listening to East 1999.
|
I honestly have never listened to them. You should check out that Mobb Deep album I was talking about, I think you would dig it. Production is raw as fvck.
|

So it seems, yeah.
I burnt out on 36 Chambers. At the moment, I prefer both Liquid Swords and Cuban Linx.
Yeah, I don't listen to it as much anymore either, but I'm sure I will again when I haven't in a while. It certainly blows away Illmatic. Anyway, I'm off to uni, I hope I don't fall asleep, lol. bye gice |
lol Illmatic dominates 36 Chambers
|
Illmatic bores me
|
Haha, I don't understand how that album bores anyone.

The Infamous? |
Yeah.
I enjoy Illmatic very much. |
I'd be happy to send you an album. I don't know if you're gonna like it, it's very fast-tounged, and Bizzy has a very unique style, and you can't hear too many words that are being said (mainly because of the harmonizing and how quickly the rhymes are said).
Tell me if you're interested and I'll send you and album or just a single song through MSN to see if it peaks your interest. |
I have a love/hate with Bone Thugs, especially Bizzy. He sounds like a cartoon character. They write insaaaaaaaaaaane harmonies though.
|
I don't know, I'm not really into really fast MCs. I'll get onto MSN now so you can send me a couple of songs.
np: GZA - Shadowboxin' probably my favourite off Liquid Swords. It's easily the best thing I've heard Method Man do. |
Just listen to Thug Luv on repeat.
|
Haha, yeah he does, but I love his vocals. Have you heard the original Crossroads? It blows the **** out of the remix, which seemed to be very hyped up.

Yea it's better. Still they get tiresome after a while. |
Yeah I might find that out soon. I've just been listening to East 1999 a lot, and I may get burn out if I keep listeing to it too much.
Lifestyles of the Poor and Dangerous I'm liking a lot as well. Big L has some of the grossest but most genius rhymes ever. |
Haven't listened to Big L in years but I remember his beats being way too lame for his MCing.
|
Big L is great. Shame about the beats on that album though, if he'd got some better producers to complement his skills that album could have been ridiculously good. It's still great, but the beats are pretty bland alot of the time. I Don't Understand It is awesome.
|
Hehe. Well I haven't dove too far into the genre, so I don't think my hip-hop/rap knowledge is developed enough to analyze fitting beats. However, I tend to pay more attention to the lyric and flow than anything else.
|
big L is that nigga you expect to catch wreck on any cassette deck, im so ahead of my time my parents havent met yet
|
Are you guys into Kool G Rap? His albums with DJ Polo are really good, especially Live & Let Die.
