i like in flames because their singer almost has a clean voice imo but do they solo at all, i know melodic most of the time means slow but it would also be good if there was a technical side as well..and are nevermore technical as well?
I strongly suggest you check out nevermore - enemies of reality :thumb:

sweet_2th 09-02-2005 01:06 AM

Bartender 09-02-2005 06:29 AM

You could maybe check out Alice In Chains' acoustic EP (Jar of Flies?), and maybe Jane's Addiction in general.

The Cynic 09-03-2005 06:26 PM

What CD should I get next, Trivium (Ascendensy), All That Remains (The Darkened Heart), or Nightwish (Once)?

xizoesira 09-04-2005 01:29 AM

I've been getting into Stoner doom. I have Electric Wizard's Dopethrone (love it) and Sleep's Dopesmoker (love it, but not as much as Dopethrone). I need more.

What is there?
What CD should I get next, Trivium (Ascendensy), All That Remains (The Darkened Heart), or Nightwish (Once)?
I want to jump up and say Nightwish, but I'm bias because I don't care for the other two. What do you like?

I'm looking for some prog,

either old in the same vein as Pink Floyd (DSOTM style)
or new like Porcupine Tree, Riverside etc

Just some deep sounding music i can chill out to like that

CockeyedMaverik 09-04-2005 02:12 AM

as far as pink floyd goes (just in case you were looking for any floyd songs) u can give echoes a try.

ooo and i just suggest this song to any1 but i think u'll like it if your in a dsotm feeling, Three Days from Jane's Addiction

CockeyedMaverik 09-04-2005 02:25 AM

does any1 have any suggestions for john lennons solo career (other than imagine)?

The Flabbit Rides High 09-04-2005 03:24 AM

Can anyone recommend me a band that sounds like The Darkest Nights from As I Lay Dying?

I kinda like hardcore, but I like the pattern of 70% screaming and 30% singing melodicaly.

Thank you.

Trivium kind of sound like them.

Soilworks "Stabbing the Drama" is good.

Also, Demon Hunter is a mix of screaming and singing but you may not like them.

I don't know of those bands, but I do know this:

Fatboy Slim:

Fatboy Slim (Norman Cook) samples classic tunes, ranging from 60's soul, to 80's rock, and adds an electronic element to it. He's great.

I would recomend: You've Come A Long Way Baby.

:)

Can Someone Recommend me some bands like Agalloch please.

Stubbsy 09-05-2005 04:38 AM

Need a SONG URGENTLY!!!!PLEASE

I know i dont come here much but i have started another bad to my normal band and this bands a bit different. My 1st band is a standard 4 piece and my second band is:

Me-Drums/Bass (male)
Person 2-Piano/Vocals ( Female)
Person 3-Drums/Vocals (male)
Person 4-Bass/Vocals (female)
Now we are in a bit of a pickle and we need an easy song to play that has atleast piano/Keys, bass, and guitar and vocals in it. It has to be in the soft rock genre.

Could any body help out with naming songs??
Thanks
