man this is like a triple post its so slow
It might have something to do with the fact that you totally fucked up the thread.

Everyone shut the fuck up.

Now, let's talk about hip hop. What is everyone's most anticipated release of the year? Mine is Lil Jon's Crunk Rock. Do not flame, I have very legitimate reasons. I believe that Lil Jon has more influence over Southern rap than any other individual figure. His influence may have ruined it, but his personal contribution as a producer has been more or less enjoyable, and every once in a while he hits upon some magic formula, see "Snap Ya Fingers." Now he's doing a record with live rock instrumentation, and I can't wait to see what that does to Southern rap.

TimJim 03-22-2007 10:23 AM

fine im gone

niobium 03-22-2007 12:00 PM

I'm interested to hear it too, just not at your level.

Chappelle skit on the new 2Pac, apparently not broadcast on tv.
it's been on tv.

Yo people, assist me in creating a list of 'must listen to before you die' beats.

Right now, 'Check Yo Self' by Ice Cube is impressing the hell out of me, with those wicked keyboard trippy lines. I remember playing San Andreas a while ago, and playing the minigame involving lowriders with hydraulics and competing to this beat.

sgrevs 03-23-2007 08:22 AM

Na but seriously, when the hell does Cuban Linx 2 come out? I really want to hear it. As well as Ghostface/Doom.

Edit: I totally dig the beat in Oh My God by Jay-Z, it's absolutely amazing.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-23-2007 09:57 AM

Summer of this year, the American summer I assume. The original is my favourite Wu solo album so I can't wait.

Did you hear the track off it that pixies posted a while back? It sounded pretty good.

theres a fair bit of info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Only_built_for_cuban_linx_2

Apocalyptic Raids 03-23-2007 10:18 AM

I thought it was funny :-*

Rams 03-23-2007 10:34 AM

New Stones Throw compilation/sampler will be a must listen to for 2007. The Funky 16 Corners and The Third Unheard: Connecticut Hip Hop 1979-1983 are absolute beasts.

New Rakim is my most anticipated.

I did, hence my utter and complete excitement. Winter for me is far away though  i want it now.

It has one of the best lineups of potential guests I've ever seen ever. Wow.

Rams 03-23-2007 10:23 PM

Sounds like there is going to be too many producers for a concept album. RZA, Mathematics, and Scram Jones would be good, but I can't see how Dre or Jay Dee fits in at all.

sgrevs 03-24-2007 05:43 PM

I agree that I can't see Dre or Dilla fitting in, but since they're both awesome I'm sure it will still be fine.

Eliminator 03-24-2007 05:46 PM

dilla would fit

Apocalyptic Raids 03-24-2007 06:52 PM
New Rakim is my most anticipated.
when is that supposed to come out?

Eliminator 03-24-2007 06:53 PM
