I like SOAD, but they're hard to classify. They have alot of different styles and influences in their music.

Nu-metal is a wave, or movement, like NWOBHM. Compare Def Leppard to Iron Maiden, for instance. It isn't a genre, per se.

If it's a movement, that brings up an interesting question. When will it end? Has it ended? Alot of bands classed as 'Nu-metal' today are completely different than nu-metal bands ten years ago. Maybe it has finished?

Is Slipknot better than say Testament, or Napalm Death, Arch Enemy, or less popular bands, simply because they sell better? Absolutely not.
