0:00 Introduction So far so good. Great melodic rhythm section and great guitars
0:35 Oh crap. Not what I expected at all. Very generic whiny vocals. I wonder when they will end? I can;t understand a word he is saying at all. 1:39 Chorus Great bass lines, great guitar, I am finally starting to feel the vocals 1:57 tremolo guitar sounds great 2:26 same generic vocals but great screaming vocals over it, nice little mini guitar solo in the middle here 3:05-3:21 great tapping guitar 3:22 finally some death growl screaming followed up by more high pitch screams which sound great 4:10 violin solo Not really sure how a violin solo goes over this deathish blackish metal though i am not sure what to call it, just isn't working out for me, the violin solo is a little overpowering here ' 5:34 finally the violin solo is over and the guitar solo starts, great solo, not much to say about this, pretty self explanatory lasts until about 6:25 after 6:25 mostly lead guitars over death growls, still can't hardly understand a word at about 7:05 great the violin is back through to 7:40 plus is death growls over a violin solo at 8:08 is a dual violin solo which actually sounds pretty good at 8:35 is more rhythm violin along with more death vocals, pretty lame and repetitive 9:00 outro, same as the intro for the most part ends 9:27 Still very repetitive, some good aspects such as the guitar taps and the violin solos, the violin interlude actually takes aaway from the song in my opinion, the vocals towards the beginning were rather generic and not too impressive while the high pitch screams were great and perfectly positioned. the death vocals were also great but used rather unsparingly and seemed to appear quite to often throughout the jist of the song. Overall 6.5/10 My suggestions: Vaakevandring ~ Fader Vaar white metal Same artist ~ Someday Same artist ~ to find eternal peace shadows fall ~ eternity is within NWOAHM or whatever it's called toto ~ rosanna old 80's rock petra ~ it is finished 80's christian rock same artist ~ computer brains peasant ~ the arm of barlow metal a theory on conquest ~ false prophet metal diesel ~ blood is bond legions will fall ~ to stain my hands the aftermath ~ just like you jacknife ~ tears fall endless dead industry ~ falling down weaken the adversary ~ Ashes of the Dawn forever mourne ~ abyrinth of shadows all metal basically except those labeled as other than metal thought I'd throw some dallas bands in there last 9 can be found at http://www.xtremedfw.com just click listen |

jacknife ~ tears fall endless
Dun dun -rifriffriff-riffriff I'm getting the chopper out for this one Harmonized solo comes in, badass Verse is pretty cool, vocals are nothing special. I thought I heard an epic chorus coming in, but it's kind of a letdown. The melodies are all standard metal fare. The guitarist is good enough, but nothing inventive. This whole experience has been enjoyable, but nothing special thus far. The chorus is even disappointing. There are some sung vocals hidden in the mix, but only for a second. Yeah, overall, this was pretty boring. The dynamic never really changed and the song never really felt like it went anywhere. It was tight, but none of the players really stuck out to me. It's easy to find a guitarist that can shred in harmonic minor and a drummer with a galloping double bass. I will say, I want to ride motorcycles to this, but only for one song at a time. Fans of Dead to Fall would like this I think. 4/10 Achilles - Dear Old Tyger That Sleeps (hardcore) http://www(dot)mediafire.com/?dej3inyvozz Able Baker Fox - October (rock) http://www(dot)mediafire.com/?dzdjbcobjn4 The Environment - Bloom (mathrock) http://www(dot)mediafire.com/?0v5mwxlcd4v links coming... |

Achilles-Dear Old Tyger That Sleeps Songs starts of with a pretty good melodic intro, then from this transitions into a heavier section. Overall its a hardcore with a good sense of melody. The vocals are just an average hardocore shout. The song would be better but it's too short and about a halfway begins to ditch the melody, and the song gets boring. 6/10 Nehemiah-The King's Collapse Racetraitor-Suffocation ps. both songs are on the band's myspaces |
