Seeing them in concert in August. But im not 100% on whether or not they still have Dickey Betts
Great piano in the Allman Bro.'s. I dont listen to them that much, but they are still awesome.

gmoneyguy 08-06-2004 10:28 PM
Seriously? Its one of the earlier bands he was in, after the Bluesbreakers. I'd check Cream out immediately. Go now.
Is Oteil Burbridge with them now?

Against Miik! 08-06-2004 10:29 PM

Yeah I think its him and Warren Haynes, but it might only be temporary. I see no reason why Dickey would leave for good.

Buy the album Live At Fillmore East and you will never stop listening to them.

No, you should be happy. Trucks is a fireball on slide. And Haynes owns everyone.

B0nz0 08-06-2004 10:35 PM

ooo and they are amazing live

i saw them on their last night at the beacon. my favorite concert of all time. they played for 3 hours and 45 minutes.

themightyquinn 08-06-2004 10:35 PM

Who here thinks Chuck Berry doesn't get enough credit for his influence on rock?

Badmoon 08-06-2004 10:35 PM
Dicki and warren methinks
See, that's odd, because there, Haynes takes Dickey's old role, and Dicki remains with Duane's old role.

Yeah I know, but its still not Dickey Betts. And thats means they wont be playing Ramblin man or Blue Sky. I wish Dickey and Duane were still around. Nothing beats Duane Allman.

My failed attempt at changing the subject :upset:

Badmoon 08-06-2004 10:40 PM

Those are two fantastic songs! I love when Dickey plays main lead (Each Allman guitarist plays a lead style). He has such interesting solos.
