Someone tell me a band that I simply must hear.
Belle & Sebastian.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 05-19-2006 08:18 PM

I've been getting into Orange Juice. I have Rip It Up. A Million Pleading Faces is addictive.

Little Man being Erased 05-20-2006 01:35 AM

Belle & Sebastian are very near the top of my list of stuff to buy.

I've heard one Orange Juice song and it was pretty dang great, I'll look into more.

And I'll be sure to check out Trashcan Sinatras asap.

Just got back from Ben Harper at a good venue (River Stage). He played most of the songs I wanted to hear and made Better Way one of my favourites of his. Jack Johnson came on for one song, and although I'm not exactly his biggest fan, it was a nice surprise.

I also absolutely reak of illegal substances due to the large ammount of pot being smoked.

blueyxd 05-20-2006 08:53 AM

The River Stage as in Brisbane?
Someone tell me a band that I simply must hear.
Anathema
The River Stage as in Brisbane?
Yeah, the atmosphere is really good there.

Also, I Heart Hiroshima have their video up on myspace so for everyone who is yet to witness the fantasticalness, I strongly recommend you watch it.

br3ad_man 05-20-2006 03:56 PM

Hooray for Brisbane and I Heart Hiroshima.

So I just went round my mates with a few friends. Cracked open a few beers, and watched a recorded version of the Eurovision Song contest (With use of fast forward function).

Lordi actually won, ahahah. Lordi own, and so does Terry Wogan.
Any news on the GNR tickets?
Yeah, those tickets are long gone now. I'm a bit pissed at my friends, I would help a buddy see one of his favorite bands if I could, but oh well.

I've got Matisyahu and Dinosaur Jr to see next week, aswell as Chilli Peppers in July, and hopefully Alice in Chains who have announced a London date for the day after.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 05-20-2006 09:36 PM

I went to this strange kinky party last night. There was lots of licking and stuff and it was..hmm.

YDload 05-21-2006 01:59 AM

Has anyone heard of the Austin City Limits music festival? Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are headlining and there are dozens of other bands as well. Probably would be a good show if you're in the area (I'm not :().

 Won't it suck without Layne?

I decided today to quit my job as soon as I get my driver's license. The rest of the year is going to be so much better. :)

Except I won't get to buy many cds.

Kyle 05-21-2006 04:17 AM
 Won't it suck without Layne?
Meh, it won't be as good, but I love Jerry, and it's one last chance to see him play through all the songs. Plus they have had loads of cool guests on tour, so I might get to see Duff Mckagan (which would slightly constitute for missing out on GNR).

I went to a little shindig last night myself. We sat around drinking wine, looking through the yearbook playing the "would you tap that" game, and watching Mallrats. It was fine.

Yeah, I try to make it every year. It's always overcrowded and ridiculously hot but usually the headliners alone are worth it, plus there's a ton of new bands to check out.

Robert Crumb 05-21-2006 11:32 AM

I fought against the vague abstract of cancer last evening. It was a little less fulfilling that I thought it would be.

Zappa 05-21-2006 11:36 AM

Yesterday I slept from about 4PM to about 6PM. And then I went to bed at 11:30 and slept till 12:30. And now I feel weird.

Robert Crumb 05-21-2006 11:40 AM

I fell asleep for an hour at like 8PM last week and I couldn't fall asleep for the rest of the night after I woke up. I like that feeling.

Zmev 05-21-2006 12:01 PM

Went to sleep at 3 and now I cant find my keys.

pixiesfanyo 05-21-2006 12:17 PM

My keys are on my desk.

Let's have an MX Alt/Indie meeting.

I'll bring the salsa.

ATM 05-21-2006 12:45 PM

Man I was up all night at a big ol' party for my girlfriend's brother's graduation.

BillCosby 05-21-2006 01:02 PM

This will be the best festival ever:

Wanker 05-21-2006 01:11 PM

It's really weird seeing a Sega Genesis, Saturn, and Dreamcast sitting on my bedroom floor.

..I feel so obsolete.

pixiesfanyo 05-21-2006 01:14 PM

Sega owns.

Glitterati 05-21-2006 01:22 PM

I have a feeling if I made an EightMilesHigh thread I would be pushing my luck.

Zmev 05-21-2006 01:54 PM

Especially since the fads over.

Wanker 05-21-2006 01:56 PM

it was a quick one it was..

..and Sega DOES own. my genesis doesn't work right now, but I'm waiting for a new AV cable to arrive via mail via ebay, because the old RF switcher doesn't work anymore.

/craps pants in excitement

Kyle 05-21-2006 04:01 PM

Matisyahu tomorrow, I'm getting all excited. I should really buy some drugs...

ATM 05-21-2006 06:56 PM

I just played with a band composed of some friends of mine, and it went really well. I think I am going to join :-D
