I was at a band concert yesterday (school band), and some kid pulled out his guitar and started playing the dreaded guitar song. (Stairway To Heaven)
Why is musical ignorance so widespread?
I'd like to reference the sign in Wayne's World. |
I'd like to reference the sing in Wayne's World.
I need to find that. "No Stairway To Heaven? Bummer." |

"No Stairway To Heaven? Bummer."
It would be great if you had that sign, and when he started playing it you just held it up and pointed to it. My brother was reading a list of songs not to play when you go to try a guitar at a music store. The only ones I remember were Stairway and Smoke on the Water. |

Those would be two of the other ones, definitely. |
For a while I was considering putting one on the entrance to the stairway in sophmore hallway where they always had guitars so I could be like "No Stairway, Denied!?", but the guitarists have since been replaced by hackey-sack players (The next big olympic sport)
|
You know I wouldn't mind hearing the Stairway solo, if they just added some originality to it. I mean of course I'm so impressed when you can mimick one of the most overdone overrated solos of all time note for note.

I mostly only hear the intro, and then proceed to stab myself in the ear. |
Hey dudes. I'm doing a presentation on mythological influence in classic rock, and I need some ideas for songs that are based off of myths. For example:
Cream - Tales of Brave Ulysses Led Zeppelin - Achilles' Last Stand Pink Floyd - Sysyphus pts.1-4 Any ideas? |
Immigrant song
Didn't think of that. Good call :thumb: Yea, the class is mostly Greek, but we've mentioned Norse stuff before. |

It was funny because my friend put it in his works cited and cited it at the end of the sentence and everything. "And Odysseus's 'naked ears were tortured, by the sirens sweetly singing'" (Clapton, Bruce, Baker) Like that  |
You know if you don't mind bullshiting your work you could strech your presentation by playing clips from Pink Floyd's Live in Pompii.

All others talk about purple fishes and mermaids. I can almost feel the LSD coming off that song. |

Yea, he mentions Thor in there somewhere. |
I sort of remeber a Queen song with some rreference to mythology, but I cant remember what exactly
|
