That sounds German. Confirm/deny.
Amharic. It's the major language of Ethiopia, and thus important to Rastas. "Igziabeher" means "let God be praised." I recommend the Peter Tosh song of the same name.

NOTE: I do not, in any way, consider myself a Rastafarian. I am interested in its precepts because of its similarities to Judaism, and because I am a fanatical devotee of reggae music.

And because I smoke mad weed.
I still need to see the whole of Fight Club, Coffee & Cigarettes, Memento, Mulholland Dr., Requiem For A Dream, M, etc.
If you want to see M, archive.org have it up for download as it's now public domain.
Sure did little buddy. Looks like me and some friends are gonna be making a mammoth road trip to get there. 14 hours.
Holy ****. Are you camping?

Man, I'm really sick at the moment but I still have to go to school. If I miss anything this week, I'm screwed. It sucks x12.
I finally saw Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels the other night.
liked it?

and i'm getting a little tired of Tarantino. i'll always enjoy Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill but you can only watch them so often. i'm sick of everything else from him
Holy ****. Are you camping?
Well, we didn't try to get camping tickets, but we still have to figure out where we're gonna stay. Who knows? We'll probably end up sleeping in the car or something.

I think Tarantino is a good director, but he is reaaaaally full of himself. All the campy little pop culture references in his movies just seem to scream "Look at me, aren't I clever?"

But I'll always have a place in my heart for Pulp Fiction. That movie is just plain awesome.

Kurtz 05-15-2006 06:01 PM

seriously

not to mention he doesn't have any emotion, ever

don't get me wrong, pulp fiction is awesome for what it is, but i would probably take the pianist or forrest gump over it

Little Man being Erased 05-15-2006 06:18 PM

I saw Reservoir Dogs for the first time recently, and to be honest, I didn't see what the big deal was. Everyone seems to wank over it, but I thought it was pretty lame.

Pulp Fiction is great though.

Plus, the fact that Tarantino wrote (?) and directed an episode of CSI takes him down a peg or two in my book.

Kurtz 05-15-2006 06:33 PM

i have a poster of Reservoir Dogs in my room, just because it looks cool

but i have a post of the godfather that looks even better

CSI is great though, at least the original

Yea, I thought it was great.

I decided I need to see more movies, so any suggestions you have, throw them my way.

Seriously, I only ever watch stupid comedies, so suggest anything. Anyone.

The Great Decay 05-15-2006 07:52 PM

I recently watched the movie "The Chumscrubber" and thought it was quite good.

Little Man being Erased 05-15-2006 07:57 PM

Have you seen Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas?

'Cause if you haven't, you need to.

Good movie.

Little Man being Erased 05-15-2006 08:00 PM

Great book too.

Kurtz 05-15-2006 09:26 PM

Goodfellas.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I forget if it was in here or the Diggin' thread but YDload posted that Girl Talk stuff that samples a million different pop songs and it kicks ***. It inspired me to make my own sampling extravaganza (read: rip off Girl Talk):

"eva since"

it samples:

x-wife - "ping pong"
three six mafia - "poppin' my collar"
black eyed peas - "like that"
b-52s - "rock lobster"
snoop dogg - "ups and downs"
brazilian girls - "don't stop"
jamie lidell - "when i come back around"
the beatles - "michelle"
built to spill - "goin' against your mind"
the unicorns - "2014"
deltron 3030 - "virus"
devendra banhart - "heard somebody say"
metric - "calculation theme"
metric - "combat baby"
tv on the radio - "wolf like me"
gnarls barkley - "crazy"

Little Man being Erased 05-15-2006 09:35 PM

That's pretty cool Billy.

I haven't heard this Girl Talk business yet, but I'm interested.

There's also another song "hold up" up for download on a different site, illegalart i think.

Annoyance 05-16-2006 12:33 AM

^^^^^^^^^^^
Those are all good movies right there. Some more I'd add are.

If you need a laugh.

The Big Lebowski, Heathers, Ghost World, Fargo

My personal favourite type of films are thrillers. For that I'd suggest:

Red Rock West, Blue Velvet, Memento, The Machinist, Insomnia.

br3ad_man 05-16-2006 01:11 AM

From what I've seen, those are all great picks. Ghost World is amazing.

Little Man being Erased 05-16-2006 01:33 AM

Fargo and The Big Lebowski are both so awesome. The Coen Brothers rule.

Zorg 05-16-2006 01:37 AM

Repo Man is my favourite movie.
Fargo and The Big Lebowski are both so awesome. The Coen Brothers rule.
Fargo and The Man Who Wasn't There are the coolest I think.

Glitterati 05-16-2006 09:53 AM
Repo Man is my favourite movie.
That's an awesome movie. It's so weird, but I love it. Great soundtrack, too.

If you like the Coens, check out Miller's Crossing. It's got Albert Finney, John Turturro, and Gabriel Byrne, and it's their take on a '30s gangster film.

Zmev 05-16-2006 12:19 PM

I dig Kevin Smith films, man.

dei 05-16-2006 12:29 PM

Even Jersey Girl?

Little Man being Erased 05-16-2006 02:47 PM
Fargo and The Man Who Wasn't There are the coolest I think.
No man, it's called The Big Lebowski.
I dig Kevin Smith films, man.
Clerks was pretty good, and I have a soft spot for Mallrats, but the rest = meh.
