Are those high notes in Right in Time bent pitched harmonics on a bass?
Justin rules!
Edit: During the intro :o

kurrpt 04-19-2006 12:14 PM

give me a track name, and time when you hear that. Ill tell you

Futuro 04-19-2006 12:14 PM
Imo, it would only be a mistake not to download the album now, and then buy it.

Because there was a hype that's been building up for 5 years now. And imo that hype was building up to the day you get a CHANCE to hear the new album. Now here is your chance. and imo, there's no harm in listening to it now, and then buying it on May 2nd.
Agreed and I am glad I downloaded it last night. 2 in the morning and I couldn't sleep. I listened to every second, loved it. Than slept perfectly.

Right in two is my favorite track.

Holy shit! Danny does 5 against 4 in Jambi.

Wow, Definetly his most techically challenging.

AA-12 04-19-2006 12:26 PM

So far:

1. Jambi
2. The Pot
3. Rossetta Stoned

kurrpt 04-19-2006 12:26 PM

Vicarious is definitely my favorite by far (to this point)

Prince of Darkness 04-19-2006 12:27 PM

Yeah thats what I'm talking about. I wish I had my bass here so I could figure it out!

kurrpt 04-19-2006 12:29 PM

someone tell moses to mind his own Ps and Qs :lo:

Shadius 04-19-2006 12:29 PM

It would be easier to say which songs I don't like as much right now, and those would be Wings For Marie (Part 1), I feel like 10, 000 Days has a big enough buildup in itself at the moment. I was sort of expecting a Parabol/a type thing here, and it never happened, so maybe thats why i'm not digging it so much right now.

Intension is the other one I'm not digging too much at the moment, some parts some really pretty, but as a whole... I'm not sure right now. Everything else is either really good or growing on me.

Prince of Darkness 04-19-2006 12:30 PM

imo, I've heard better...

I love the vocals on The Pot!:smash:

My bad, its Rosetta stoned.

And it happens around 7 mins.

Moses 04-19-2006 12:31 PM

Okay well I'm out of here again, though I may drop in again to see who's still holding out.

Shadius 04-19-2006 12:32 PM

So do I, man I love the song. It's so...groovy.

I just see Maynard as a big black woman singing it and snapping his fingers, slapping some dudes faces.

I totally agree with you.
I thought that 10 000 days was going to start heavy because of the built up from Wings for Marie. oh well.

Yeah, Intension is the weak song imo, but I know I a month or 2, I'll probably regret saying this. :p

I dont mind reading all these posts about the album actually. Everyone seems to have different views on everything

ATC 04-19-2006 12:34 PM

I still can't bring myself to like Vicarious and Jambi.
My favorites are Right in two and 10000 days. I love the overall bleakness and resignation of the album.
That and... well, I'm British.
I'm in British Columbia. Coincidence? I think not.

Shadius 04-19-2006 12:35 PM

I do too. I can see why others might be alienated by it, but to be honest, I love Radiohead and Muse, and they're fairly bleak at the best of times.

That and... well, I'm British.

Duncster 04-19-2006 12:36 PM
My bad, its Rosetta stoned.

That riff is so awesome.
Edit: One hell of a polyrythm

SmashingPumpkin 04-19-2006 12:37 PM

Hey, what is the song that Adam was talking about in Guitar World? You know, the one with the "classical" buildup.

Still holding up until May 2nd. Haha.
