I actually love understanding theory. I like understanding all the key signatures and tonic and dominant notes and rhythmic values and chord prorgressions and modes work. It's odd, I suppose but I love it.

About the places where people live-Canada>All

About Tye Dyes-I only have a Grateful Dead one and it is so cool. I dont care what anyone thinks of me when I ware it because I also have this blond afro and everyone already thinks I'm on drugs.........which I am.

The Doors rule etc. etc.

jpj 03-02-2005 04:31 PM

On the topic of other instruments I really want an upright so bad, maybe I should save up for one of those instead of 6er.

It'd be cool to play keyboards too.

Broken Arrow 03-02-2005 04:33 PM

6ers piss me off.

I want to learn sitar real bad.

I know, it's like when bass players realized that they weren't as cool as guitarists so they tried to copy them.

It'd would most likely be very difficult for you to find lessons, the sheet music is different, more difficult and very hard to come by. And lesson are needed.

I have a friend who plays sitar.

RockAndRoll 03-02-2005 04:38 PM

The guy from Robert Randolph and the Family Band uses a 6er. My bassist uses a 5er.

Silly drummer.

Broken Arrow 03-02-2005 05:11 PM

I dont mind people who play 6 six strings. I just hate the way they look. So chunky and just not right.

Like I have a picture Of Phil Lesh that I was going to put on my wall but he had a 6er so I ended up not putting him up.

I'm a guitarist and I know there is no such thing as a "Silly drummer." There may be such a thing as a STUPID drummer however.

...

I'm just kidding all you drummers!!!:thumb:

6ers do sound good though.

You.

Broken Arrow 03-02-2005 05:44 PM

Do, you mean a 6er as in a guitar or as in a 6 string bass? Because you clearly stated you were a guitarist so you may be misunderstanding this whole thing.

MalcolmYoungRock 03-02-2005 05:49 PM

He means a bass.

I wouldn't call a guitar a 6er.

I would call it a guitar.

I only would call it a 12 string if it had 12 strings.

Well, that's what normal people would say. But this guy isn't all normal.

MalcolmYoungRock 03-02-2005 06:03 PM

Yeah, clearly where it says "CLASSIC ROCK GUITARIST!"

That makes sense now.

Yes, but it would be worth it. Oh yes.

I was at a band concert yesterday (school band), and some kid pulled out his guitar and started playing the dreaded guitar song. (Stairway To Heaven)

Why is musical ignorance so widespread?

People want to play songs that everybody has heard so that they sound cool. Honestly I love Hendrix but I will always be more impressed by people playing SRV.

Was it an act of rebellion or did the band teacher let him?
