I know, I'm just saying that he wrote the solos and chances are that metallica used them.
I'm pretty sure he just wrote the Ktulu chord progression. Which is why he used it in Hanger 18.
And Kirk wrote the solos on Kill 'Em All, but some of them are very much based on Dave's.

I think that most of the Solos and most off the songs on KEA were all Dave. I remember him saying on SKOM that he got really resentful of Kirk becuase he was getting really popular playing what was essentially Daves stuff.

metalhead_matt 08-19-2005 08:47 AM

anyone know when the new album is released yet, and when they will next be touring the UK? i cant find any details

They aint saying anything yet. And there are no tour dates released. And a tour won't be untill after the new album. So you will be waiting a while.

Kirk wrote two solos on KEA, the first in The Four Horsemen and the last one in Jump in the Fire.

Yeah, but Kirk played them all.

lightningmetal666 08-19-2005 01:40 PM

I wonder how you play that slow solo in The Four Horsemen? It sounds awesome but I can't seem to figure it out by ear.

Jev 08-19-2005 01:49 PM

It's two guitars soloing at once.

However the Call of Ktulu isn't the exact same. It's quite similar though.

I like the distortion and strummage on Hangar 18 though, but the Call of Ktulu is cool too.

He's offline anyway.

Chu 08-19-2005 03:54 PM

For Ride The Lightning, I don't think Mustaine wrote the solo, he wrote the intro, and outro riff/s, but I think that's all.

Yea it's my understanding that dave wrote almost everthing on KEA
and some stuff on RTL and he also seems to think he did something on MOP
and I realise that the four horsemen wa his Idea but come on man to use
on a album to years after the band that kicked you out used it...was he Just trying
to get back on his feet? cause that's low

Chu 08-19-2005 06:27 PM

I don't really understand what you're trying to say there
Mustaine has only claimed to have contributed to the riff from Leper Messiah.

Um, he doesnt "think" he wrote something on MoP, he definitely did write the spider riff from Leper Messiah, it doesn't really sound like something Mr. Hetfield would write.
