I'm sitting in my school's library listening to it while I "research" for a paper that I'm "doing". Really though, I skipped my speech class so I could listen to it. And oh am I glad I did. Too bad I still have one more class today...

Its definetly different than anything they've released, I think anyway. Well I'm going to walk around for a while and grab something to eat before my next class, all while listening to new Tool. I'm so happy. :)

You can hear parts almost borrowed from other albums, not in a bad way, particulary, but I can hear generally parts of Ænima and Lateralus in here, as i'm sure people can. But the fact is, the overall album is much different to Lateralus or Ænima, if you got Undertow and then put 10, 000 Days on, it wouldn't even be the same damn band. I mean, it might as well not be. This album just broadens the gap between their earlier work. Even the gap between Ænima and 10, 000 Days is fairly big besides the odd riff.

but any experience fan could tell its TOoL just by listening to it. I knew when i DL'd the album, i would be able to tell immediately if it was legit (which it was)

But the vocals in the beginning sound really, really weird.

I love the first half of Jambi though. It's really melodic, in a really cool way.

Right in Two, and 10,000 Days are my favourites at the moment. When i'm out walking in the streets, The Pot, or Jambi are put on.

I'm saying if you had just heard Undertow, I don't think you'd be able to tell 10, 000 Days was Tool. Maybe [i]you[/i] would, it's irrelvant, my point is there's even more of a progression now.

Haha. Yeah, to be honest, he is probably the member of the band to have changed style the least. Though he's added some cool touches on this album with effects and such. I really do like that solo in Jambi, his guitar GROWLS, man.

The begining to Rosetta Stoned made me jump twice, for some reason, I can't even really find the moment that made me jump now.

Im still waiting on the official response to the leak, particuarly how it happened. I doubt it was the same way Vicarious did.

Imo, it would only be a mistake not to download the album now, and then buy it.

Because there was a hype that's been building up for 5 years now. And imo that hype was building up to the day you get a CHANCE to hear the new album. Now here is your chance. and imo, there's no harm in listening to it now, and then buying it on May 2nd.
