My neck is killing me from Unexpect last night, but it was totally worth it. It was really depressing...we went to a party after the show for my friend's birthday, and there were more people at the party than there were at the concert. At max, about 50 people showed up.

It was really cool though. We actually talked to some people who waited in line with us (we got there a bit early), and it turns out everybody there was there for Unexpect. So when they came on, we were all like, yeah, we're the NY Unexpect fans! One row!

That, and their female singer looked genuinely happy when we started clapping and singing along without being told. She's quite a looker as well, and I never knew she could pull out growls like she could. Quite awesome.

Echoes Of Eternity wasn't bad either. Their singer wore low cut everything, which made their set much more interesting. They sound a lot better live than they do on record.

Then we left. Had no interest in staying for The Agonist (terrible freakin' band), and Trail Of Tears I didn't bother to listen to for more than one song. It's a shame Unexpect didn't get to play for longer though...they only got 5 songs.

I'm going to see UneXpect in March. Unfortunately they are on tour with Nile(or Necrophagist).

Necrophagist are sweet live though.
Seen them once, both were great shows.

That sort of reminds me of when I went to see Nada Surf some years ago. They travelled all the way to Sweden and we were maybe 40 or so in the audience. Very strange.

I saw Dungen in southern California and there were about 40 people in the audience. I think they were trying to build a fanbase in the US.

I can understand trying to build a fanbase in the US, but Sweden isn't the biggest of markets. I think Nada Surf only went to Sweden 'cause one of the band members had been living here for a while and he liked the city. They probably toured Germany and some other countries not too far from here.

And how're Dungen? I've been hearing some positive things about them.

I haven't heard their most recent album, but Ta Det Lugnt is pretty good. Good psychadelic music and the main guy Gustav writes some good melodies. The live show wasn't so spectacular though.
