I haven't seen this video...thought it was interesting and different (Unnamed Feeling) here it is if you haven't seen it:

http://youtube.com/w/Unnamed-Feeling---Metallica?v=HxtBWQ59E6k&search=Metallica

here is a tour of Metallica's HQ:

Kaiwaz 01-14-2006 01:22 AM
The Stones are just as big as Metallica; however, it was a Stones tour that Metallica wanted to join in on for 2 shows so they'd open. Anyways, the bands playing with Metallica are so much smaller than Metallica there's no way Metallica should do anything but headline these shows.
True. But Mick Jagger didn't make out with Keith Richards like Kirk and Lars did.
But Mick Jagger didn't make out with Keith Richards like Kirk and Lars did.
Haha, a bit pointless but photoshop is great.
Metallica is a metal band, if you check the other bands on the set list aren't near Metal, but they have more air on Mtv than Metallica, that could be a reason of why Metallica isn't headlining.

It was in Hit Parader. Regardless, it's pathetic. In my opinion, they were great, lost a crucial member of the band, and along with his death, the band also died. They had so much talent, they could have gone so far with it...but instead, they wanted to be radio oriented and not even try. To correct you, Metallica was a Metal Band.

They still play the older songs live with almost the same intensity as old Burton shows, the MIAWTW tour was a prove that metal is still in their blood.

Also Burton died before AJFA was recorded, for many people that was the heaviest and even the best album that Metallica ever recorded, but after that they changed into more hard rock.

BLS_Infernus 01-14-2006 01:54 AM

what is wrong with changing styles when you still keep your fan base...they didn't what to sound the same like everyother band does so they evolved and made thereselves more versatile as a band

heavy metal kid 01-14-2006 01:56 AM
what is wrong with changing styles when you still keep your fan base...they didn't what to sound the same like everyother band does so they evolved and made thereselves more versatile as a band
no, there is nothing wrong with changing styles, in fact it is one of the things i like metallica more than many bands.

He just said that Metallica was Metal and correctly said that they dropped some talent, wich is true, just compare Until Sleep's solo with Creeping Death's.

Then again that is better than having only a monotone band, besides they alternative era is great.

BLS_Infernus 01-14-2006 01:59 AM

they have kept Metal apart of them with every change they have made though...they just add a few new things but the metal was always there

MetallifuX 01-14-2006 01:59 AM

When simple plan came to perth everyone threw bottles at them, hahahah they are soo sh'it.......

by the way what is spamming????
it may sound like a stupid question but im new on this

BLS_Infernus 01-14-2006 02:14 AM

spamming is going off topic and talking about nothing to do with the main subject of a thread

Dude I just saw part of Icon on youtube.com...that **** was smaze (what I saw) can you buy that on DVD or something because I've never seen it before...though I heard that pop punk girl (Avril is it) covered Fuel (saw it on VH1's 40 Least Metal Moments)

I offically want to kill limp bizkit for performing Sanitarium

If I came into this thread and made a post about pie, that would be considered spam. Just take a look at The Pit. That's spam.

Oh and Limp Bizkit's version of Sanitarium is terrible. It's a shame Fred didn't "shred" that solo though.

MetallifuX 01-14-2006 03:06 AM

where abouts is the pit?

yer i seen that icon twas pretty good bit dissapointed at korn cutting out the best bits of "one" but was still interesting

BLS_Infernus 01-14-2006 03:12 AM

Sum 41's covers were pretty good...kind of makes me respect them a bit more

PepsiMetal 01-14-2006 03:26 AM
Oh and Limp Bizkit's version of Sanitarium is terrible. It's a shame Fred didn't "shred" that solo though.
It's funny how he said in the middle of a song "All of you people who are fortunate enough to be here, move in close."

Geez, what a bastard. I'd consider myself unfortunate having to hear his stupid comments. The rest of the band was ok, no solos, no suprises. Average mtv band. I would have loved if soad came and did like S&D or something. That would be awesome.

iluvkirkhammett 01-14-2006 03:39 AM
Sum 41's covers were pretty good...kind of makes me respect them a bit more
That was my favourite part of the whole show. It really impressed me.

The pit is an ugly place. We lost Jack there.

I've never heard/seen Limp Bizkit's cover of Sanitarium. I've seen the "OMGZ IT'S FR3D SHR3ddINGZ!!" (for anyone that hasn't, it's just one note.)

I haven't heard any Sum 41 covers, but I've heard The Bitter End which doesn't count. It's just a rip off

Mr. Black 01-14-2006 02:09 PM

I've heard Avril Lavigne's cover of 'Fuel'. She Butchered that song.

Diabulus in musica 01-14-2006 02:27 PM
I've heard Avril Lavigne's cover of 'Fuel'. She Butchered that song.
hahaha that is so true, i tought the cover limp bizkit made of sanitarium was kinda cool, o and what do you say about snoop singing sad but true...that was very strange and awfull

Mr. Black 01-14-2006 02:29 PM

It wan't too bad, way better than avril's but those type's of lyrics, you just don't see coming from Snoop.

Britton 01-14-2006 02:36 PM

I really didn't care for any of those covers. I haven't seen avrils...and I don't think I ever will.

Fred Durst is annoying!

Yea Joe I liked FTB but it still needs lyrics dude.

Did you you play everything?

Jev 01-14-2006 03:20 PM
I've heard Avril Lavigne's cover of 'Fuel'. She Butchered that song.
Apparently at the time of MTV Icon, that was the only Metallica song she had heard.

Bazarov 01-14-2006 03:44 PM

Out of all the bad covers of the Metallica songs at the MTV Icon, I think Snoop Dogg's version of Sad But True was the worst.
Out of all the bad covers of the Metallica songs at the MTV Icon, I think Snoop Dogg's version of Sad But True was the worst.
He said "Tallica"....that means yes he has. I would have to agree taht and Justice for all is the best Metallica album. Even though it's not my favorite album it is the best.

Love the guitar tone and the vocals on that album.

BLS_Infernus 01-14-2006 05:19 PM

That was posted in the bass forum. It got ripped to shreads since the dude who posted it was like "zomgz its amazing lolz", and I'd agree with the people who ripped it to shreads; it's not that amazing nor exciting.

Aw3someman 01-14-2006 07:26 PM

N E one here heard the Metallica Tribute album?

Blank 01-14-2006 07:28 PM

No who's on it?

iluvkirkhammett 01-14-2006 07:30 PM

I thought Snoop Dogg's Sad but True was alright. At least he did it as a tribute insted of trying to be Metallica.

Aw3someman 01-14-2006 08:32 PM

actually its Motorhead, Bruce Boiliet, Joey Vera, life after death, Dark angel, Death angel and a few others

Eye of the Beholder is really good on that

BLS_Infernus 01-14-2006 09:11 PM

isn't In Flames on one of the Tribute albums? or Fear Factory

BartDude 01-14-2006 09:14 PM

Hey whats up guys. I'm not nessecarily new here, but I'm a metallica fan so why not post in their thread?

Anyway I'll just jump into the conversation here. I have that tribute album actually. The Motorhead version of whiplash is probably the best on there.

pep 01-14-2006 09:39 PM

where can i get that tribute album?

BartDude 01-14-2006 10:10 PM
where can i get that tribute album?
I saw it at Best Buy about 2 or 3 weeks ago. It might have been something else though. You can always try Amazon.com
