Brian: Me neither.
I can't compare them to Metallica, I don't listen to them that much except for on the radio. Justin: No, its in the middle of the first one. |
I love Metallica. I'm not one of those people who thinks they're the greatest band ever, or anything, but I've liked them for a long time. I have like every album they've released.

Justin: No, its in the middle of the first one.
oic I don't have too much Metallica. Mostly singles and stuff. Master of Puppets is great as is For Whom the Bell Tolls. edit: Michelle Nolan has a great voice. :amaze: |
I got into Metallica when I used to listen to the radio a lot. Seeing them live was awesome.
|
I can't get into them.
I enjoy hearing them on the radio, but thats it. |
I just watched that Trivium thing, and immediately noticed that they sounded a lot like Metallica. I'd never actually heard Trivium before.
My guitarist is big into them. It's the worst thing about him >_< They're horrible. |
I like Metallica a lot, but sometimes I'll be at the music store looking at music and smashed in with all of the classical and jazz repetoire there will be a book like "Learn to Play Drums!-- WITH METALLICA!" and I'll just like 'wtf!'
|
Trivium didn't sound that bad. For a Metallica rip-off band that is.
|
Haha, one of my good friends is into "screamo/hardcore" ie Trivium, A7X, AILD, etc
|
As I Lay Dying would be a step up from what some of my friends listen to.
Most of my friends are into mainstream rap. |
I just watched Dave Chappelle's Block Party. It was pretty sweet.
|
As I Lay Dying would be a step up from what some of my friends listen to.
The people who don't listen to Rap/hip-hop/radio music generally have ok tastes over here. Most people in my English class knew Cute Without the 'E' when I brought that song to class during the poetry unit. |
As I Lay Dying would be a step up from what some of my friends listen to.
Most of my friends are into mainstream rap.
Ugh, rap is the worst. |
No way.
|
I used to like eminem.
A lot of his stuff isn't bad though. I could probably do about 80%+ of Lose Yourself still. |
As I Lay Dying would be a step up from what some of my friends listen to..
Frail Words Collapse is a fun album! |
Actually rap AND country are the worst.
If you have lyrics that go, "She thinks my tractor's sexy," no, that's not cool. |
Eminem is okay. I don't hate all rap, but I generally can't get into most of it.
Frail Words Collapse is a fun album!
I actually like AILD. I've seen them live twice. |
Only exception for country is Willie Nelson.
He gets tons of respect++. You actually AILD Bri? If you like pina coladas.... |
If you want some amazing Rap, watch the Dave Chappelle thing. Basically all of the best socially conscious rappers perform and it's amazing.
Country is also great. Sure it might be cheesy, but they're all so sincere about it! |
I won't listen to country.
Reverend Horton Heat is about as close to country as I'll get. |
I actually AILD. I've seen them live twice.
I As I Lay Dying too! (HA! I FINALLY GOT YOU!) |
Damn you Brian!
|
My girlfriend loves country. I think most of it is absolutely unbearable but I dig Phil Vassar and The Rascall Flats.
|
I As I Lay Dying too!
(HA! I FINALLY GOT YOU!)
So what is it now... Brian: too many to count Jon: 1 ...? |
My girlfriend loves country. I think most of it is absolutely unbearable but I dig Phil Vassar and The Rascall Flats.
Rascal Flatts \m/\m/ |
I got tired of RF after hearing that song everytime I went to a girl's myspace.
|
I won't listen to country.
My mom likes to listen to country (Although when I was listening to The Rip by Wilhelm she said "Whoa, that was cool" and she likes Protest The Hero.) in the car. I don't understand why everyone hates it. It's not all that bad. It's usually not good, but it aint bad. I like how everyone on myspace likes to say "I LYK MUSIC I LISTEN TO EVERYTHING except country" |
Country isn't bad, but the music is kinda cheesy, and the lyrics are bland.
The lyrics can be fun though. Especially drinking songs. Radio country gets annoying though. Jon: I've done that before. |
Rascal Flatts \m/\m/
Yeah, they're good, once you get by the stupid southern accent, they've got alot of pop in them so it's a little more bearable. |
I like how everyone on myspace likes to say "I LYK MUSIC I LISTEN TO EVERYTHING except country"
Word, especially they most likely don't listen to everything anyways. |
I like how everyone on myspace likes to say "I LYK MUSIC I LISTEN TO EVERYTHING except country"
Anyone typing like that probably listens to no more than 10 or 12 bands, all of which can be found on the radio. I just can't get into any country. It's not terrible, but not really my thing. Some rockabilly/psychobilly stuff is real close to country though, and I like a lot of that. |
Country isn't bad, but the music is kinda cheesy, and the lyrics are bland.
You can say that about any kind of music if you're not that into it. |
I was watching this Wille Nelson thingy on PBS, and I couldn't stop watching.
Joel: Yeah, but the music is pretty cheesy amrite? Oh, and the big issue I have with country is the stupid accents. |
Some rockabilly/psychobilly stuff is real close to country though, and I like a lot of that.
I dig acoustic folk. Folk is like Country lite.
You can say that about any kind of music if you're not that into it.
All lyrics are cheesy, I don't care whether you like the band or not. Justin, watch Psyche instead. |
SO HAY GUYS last week I was coaching at a music camp and I was teaching a Beginning Guitar class and on the last day I showed them power chords, and then we made a simple four-chord riff, and then I said, "Ok, now we're going to write an EMO SONG!" and we went around the circle and everyone came up with their own verse! It was a lot of fun, with great lyrics like "I hate my parents", "I pluck the wings off of butterflies", and "Arrrgrgrhrhrhg"!
|
Justin, watch Psyche instead.
Anime I'm guessing. Joel: Don't say you plucked the wings of a butterfly. I might go cry and make a poem in memory of the butterfly. :( |
I dig acoustic folk. Folk is like Country lite.
I've never really listened to folk. Folk-punk, but not folk. |
Anime I'm guessing.
No. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psych Jom likes it. |
All lyrics are cheesy, I don't care whether you like the band or not.
Yeah, it's a great phenomenon. All lyrics sound stupid if you say them sarcastically enough. |
