Hehe, 37" scale is something. The only thing bigger is the Knuckle bass with 39". That's damn near upright scale.

Mitchell Royce 11-27-2004 05:57 PM

And to Funkn: Yeah, that's basically what I've heard. I'd really like to try one out, but try finding one in Germany.

FUNKNBASS 11-27-2004 06:00 PM

Foxfire 11-27-2004 07:01 PM

You can't, you can only view your own as far as I know.

coddingtown 11-27-2004 07:02 PM

Foxfire 11-27-2004 07:23 PM

What would be the most efficient and cost effective way to record an entire band at once?

ridethelightning 11-27-2004 07:23 PM

to sound good, or just to have it recorded?

coddingtown 11-27-2004 07:23 PM

If you want

Omega Red 11-27-2004 07:24 PM
What would be the most efficient and cost effective way to record an entire band at once?
most likely and 8 track

1 bass
1 guitar
1 vocals
1 whatever
4 drums

Foxfire 11-27-2004 07:24 PM

I mean...all at once.

Like would it be easiest to be cheap and mic the entire band?

jazzfunkboy knows what I'm talking about, but he's not here.

ridethelightning 11-27-2004 07:25 PM

to just have it recorded, nothign beats a good ol tape player.

but to sound good, i dont know

1 mic will sound like ****

and 8 track would work the best trust me

Dieforitall89 11-27-2004 07:25 PM

Hey Guys.

ridethelightning 11-27-2004 07:27 PM

hey dfit,

quatre, how would you do 8 track?

coddingtown 11-27-2004 07:27 PM

Hello

Omega Red 11-27-2004 07:30 PM

you could 1) buy spliters for your cables and do it into a mixing board, or 2) mic each instrument
1 on Guitar
1 on Bass
1 on Vocals
1 on a second Guitar or Keyboard
1 between Snare and Hi Hat
1 in the Bass Drum
1 underneeth Ride and Floor Tom
1 Between crash and Tom Toms

Omega Red 11-27-2004 07:31 PM

hewow

ridethelightning 11-27-2004 07:32 PM

and then just record on your computer?

Omega Red 11-27-2004 07:34 PM
and then just record on your computer?
no you would record onto the 8 track, then the 8 track (if digital) hooks up to your computer.

ridethelightning 11-27-2004 07:36 PM

whats the 8 track?

ridethelightning 11-27-2004 07:36 PM

are those, those old cassete esque things i heard my mom talking about one day. care to explain?

bassist-bmxer 11-27-2004 07:37 PM

I have recorded a whole band with one computer mic before and it actually sounded ok, i put the bass amp and the vocal amp quite close to the mic and the guitar amp and drums quite far away, and it was leveled out pretty good.
I also muffled the mic by putting our guitarists beanie hat over it
