LOL  . That's great stuff. Chance's are, that's how he really is.
Most awesome guitarists have an arrogant attitude. Must come with the trade.

Jev 08-17-2005 11:57 AM

Nah he's not like that in real life he just can't answer a question seriously.
Answer:Lars: Its to heavy, hurts James' bowels
 thats funny :) so i hardly ever post in this thread, any news on a new album (i was hearing rumors of one soon to come)

Britton 08-17-2005 02:10 PM

Yea there are lots of rumors of a album but I'll believe it when big daddy hetfield
comes out and says it

I wanna get "so what" it sounds awsome. for my Book report this week
I'm reading nothing else matters, it's really good. lots of speculation from the auther though on what exactly the song's meanings are...it's good though

Doubt it. I know Newstead did though.

Does anyone have any good Metallica bootlegs?

Darkness 08-17-2005 02:55 PM

Check out that livemetallica.com thing, its official and they always put whole free good quality concerts on there. You have to sign up though, but its easy/free.

Schecterguitarist 08-17-2005 06:49 PM

I thoght it was Ron, just wasn't sure, thanx for the confirmation heavy metal kid!!

Is it just me, or does anyone else in this forum dislike Lars? I just see him as the guy who only gives a sh*t about himself and is a real big pessimist. I feel this way because in SKOM when they were gonna jam with trujillo (bass player auditions) Lars said that "its not what rob feels but what I feel". Now I can understand why it shouldn't really matter how rob felt because he came to the auditions and that means that he wants to be apart of metallica already, but Lars didn't say that it was what metallica felt but what he felt.....wtf? And when they are having one of their therapy sessions he says that he wouldn't be surprised if james never comes back to metallica after rehab. Kirk (at his ranch, the scene b4 lars and daves' convo) on the other hand said that "It doesn't matter how bad things get, they'll always sort themselves out on their own, everything will be ok in the future". I just thik Lars should chill out sometimes. Besides, he's not that great of a drummer anyway, especially since james owns his *** at drumming (LIve Sh*t DVD San Diego drum solo).

heavy metal kid 08-17-2005 06:55 PM

Lars is pretty much an ass, but without him, metallica wouldn't exist.
Many of his decitions are stupid and have no point, but is also a creative person, many of the tours and bootlegs ideas came from Lars.

thelittledrummerboy 08-17-2005 06:58 PM

Yeah he's a little self centered. But the drumming suits the Metalica sound. I would have loved to have heard them play when Lars was Sick at the download fest last year. Think they Used Joey (slipknot) Lars' drum tech and the Slayer drummer.

magicfingers 08-17-2005 07:41 PM

I don't like Lars that much at all... I don't think he knows how to have a good time. That whole napster thing was dumb... I mean seriously, aren't you rich enough? Why do you care if some kids download some of your songs? Go wipe you're eyes with hundred dollar bills on your fancy golden yacht on your way to your private island.

Huber 08-17-2005 07:49 PM

Do you realize that it's there job to make music? It's what they do for a living. He had every right to do what he did. You don't have much of a right to judge him for that. You don't know him. It's much different seeing it from the eyes of the person who made the music being downloaded.

I download music though, and I think most people these days are coming to realization that you should still buy CDs, and to support the band you should go to their shows. That's where they make the money. The internet and P2P programs have made many music fans, and that's good for the music industry also.

There's two sides of the story, and you can't blame either of them.

magicfingers 08-17-2005 07:54 PM

I understand where you are coming from and i understand it's their job, but as you said you download music. As the rest of us do and we all know it. I must've left it out somewhere in there that I do think that if really enjoy an artist you should go out and buy their album, as I do, and hope that you do also or that post would be a waste of your time.

Of course I do.

Just because I download music doesn't mean I hate Lars and everyone against P2P. I understand they see it differently, and it's understandable that they do.

The idea of picking a single side among two, or thinking a certain side is right for everyone is completely illogical. Both sides have there arguments, and you can't blame either side.

magicfingers 08-17-2005 08:26 PM

I'm not picking a single side, nor am I blaming either. And I also don't particularly like Lars because I don't find him to be that spectacular of a drummer. Having said that, I nonetheless respect him as a drummer and enjoy most Metallica music, and they are also one of my favorite bands. It's not like I hate him and think he is the downfall of Metallica, he just isn't my favorite member. I don't mind him being in Metallica at all, and I think he is probably one of the best for Metallica's sound. Just not one of my favorite drummers, that's all.

Huber 08-17-2005 08:30 PM

The first post you made regarding Lars almost clearly claimed a side.

I agree, he is a poor drummer for being in the business for 20+ years.

vashts80 08-17-2005 08:31 PM

Lars didn't sue Napster for people downloading songs on the records or for live songs, he sued them because somebody released a demo or something of I Disappear and he got pissed off.

Well, I'm sorry if it seemed that way. I was not trying to take a side, although it may have looked like it did.

Anyways, back on track. Metallica is awesome.

Chu 08-17-2005 08:36 PM
They were awesome.
Whoa whoa, what did I miss?

magicfingers 08-17-2005 08:37 PM

Definately. New stuff is nowhere near as good as the old stuff.

Huber 08-17-2005 08:38 PM

Doesn't mean they aren't awesome.

For a second, I thought they had split up. That was a bit freaky.

magicfingers 08-17-2005 08:39 PM

Heh, nah. And yes, they are still awesome. I just enjoy their older stuff more than their newer stuff.

Schecterguitarist 08-17-2005 09:46 PM
I just enjoy their older stuff more than their newer stuff.
That definetly goes without saying for most of us in this thread but not for me actually, i think they are equal. Its really just metallica doing alternative rock which i think they did a kik a*s job at doing. I personally prefer some of the songs on load an realod mor than some songs on RTL. I luv hero of the day and its my gf's favorite metallica song (so i dont mind playin it), i luv the solo in bleeding me, the wah is sick in it and the unforgiven too is a metallibest song. Carpe Diem Baby also has some sweet unorthodox chords in it that sound cool. So im just sayin that i honestly dont think load and reload albums are worse than MOP or RTL i jus think that all metallica albums are great because onece i start listening to a different one I all of a sudden have a new favorite metallica song (like rgiht now its Hero of the Day). Anyway I feels as though metallica is the best anything they try

in the end MOP is definetly my fave album of all the
