When I got Firefox a few months ago, it let me import my bookmarks from Internet Explorer. Not sure if this helps you, but you may want to try that.
Are there any new wicked features on the updated version?
Not to my knowledge, but I'm sure security and all that is ace. The taskbar seems "cleaner" as well... meaning, it looks sharper on my laptop than it did before. I dunno, though. So far so good, sans bookmarks :( |
If it's that important, you could just do a system restore to yesterday. I mean, you wouldn't lose anything but the new Firefox, and maybe a couple songs. (bastard pirate)
|
Do what Jake said. Might [not] work.
How many bookmarks did you have? |
I didn't have very many, and they probably could be easily Googled, but it was still quite the inconvenience. I'm not going to do a System Restore, because every time I try, it never works. I always get a "Windows does not detect a reason to do a System Restore, suck a dick." So pfft to System Restore, heh.
And I'm a King, not a pirate :p |
King in your own mind. Pirate in mine. :)
So uh, I have a confession to make- I've been spending more time on myspace than on mx. /slits wrists Whenever I do a SysRes, it works fine. It typically solves the problem that I was having. |
Jom: Good luck.
Jack: I used to also, but it's a little pointless. Now I'm going to run to a friend's house with some buds, for some poker and Fargo. |
Fargo? Is that code for the name of an off-brand of soda/pop?
|
Fargo? Is that code for the name of an off-brand of soda/pop?
No, that's Faygo. I think he means the movie Fargo. |
I think he meant the movie. It's supposed to be good, but I've never seen it.
|
I know Fargo as a movie. I very crazy movie at that. Whenever I think of that movie, I picture some poor bastard getting pushed head-first into a chipper shredder. :wimper:

Right, that's what I was thinking. I've never seen the movie, but the title reminds me of something I once saw on MST3K. |
So, that slingshot I was telling you about?
Well, we just spent the past half-hour or so shooting apartments and people. Bwahahahahhaha. No one could tell it was us because everything was pitch black where my townhouse is. People would look out their doorwalls and open the curtains to see, and that's when we'd hit them again. Fun times at uni on a Friday night. Next, we cooled off for a bit. This girl kept going from apartment to apartment outside seeing if they were getting hit. When she went back inside, we shot her door again with a water balloon. I think people know it's us, but they're not doing anything about it. I mean, geez, when getting hit with water balloons is the most exciting thing to happen to my area of residence this year, you can't let the fun spoil. |

Me and a couple other guys went to my backyard with a water balloon slingshot thing and were hitting nearby houses. It was great. We had a prefect view of this one house, and NAILED it. It made the loudest sound. Once we hit the house, all the lights went on and some people came out...so we stopped for a while. Once we came back out, we got creative. We started filling the balloons with barbeque sauce, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, Coke, etc. We hit the same gouse with a balloon full of choclate sauce. Oh, the memories. |
You could seriously do some serious damage to someone if you pegged in the right spot. I'm not just talking pegging someone in the package, you would go down instantly if you got hit in the head.
I need one of those! :p |
Yeah, what we call going to college, they call going to uni(versity).
Technically, the Americans are wrong on this one, since Universities have colleges, since a college is a building in which you reside whilst at University, or a specific department. A couple of words to summarize my night:
Corpse Bride, storms, private property, man-made lake, Christopher Walken, Russian Roulette |
Russian Roulette? Care to explain, sir?
|
Corpse Bride
Elaborate. |
Fargo was great. Buscemi was great, and Frances McDormand deserved the Oscar she won. Oh, and fuck that Minnesota/Midwest accent. If I hear "Ya" one more time, I'm going to hurt a small child.
The wood chipper scene was sweet. My Hold 'Em sKiLLz were top-notch too.
A couple of words to summarize my night: Corpse Bride, storms, private property, man-made lake, Christopher Walken, Russian Roulette
Let me guess, The Deer Hunter? |
Elaborate.
http://corpsebridemovie.warnerbros.com/
Russian Roulette? Care to explain, sir?
I saw like 5 minutes of a movie where Christopher Walken blows his brains out playing Russian Roulette. |
http://corpsebridemovie.warnerbros.com/
Haha, I know what it is. Did you like it? How was it? |
i know this isint for this thrwead but doese anyone have the new biomechanical album?
|
Haha, I know what it is. Did you like it? How was it?
It was pretty good. Even better cause no Goths showed up for it. |
It was pretty good. Even better cause no Goths showed up for it.
Really. That's a surprise. I would think this would be like The Night Before Christmas, where every goth kid in America sucks Tim Burton's dick. |
 I swear, every goth at my school comes sporting a freaking Jack Skellington sweatshirt EVERY DAY. Either they have a dozen Jack Skellington sweatshirts, or they have a serious personal hygiene issue. :)
Oh, and **** that Minnesota/Midwest accent. If I hear "Ya" one more time, I'm going to hurt a small child.
It's more of a Minnesota thing than a midwest thing, because I never hear anyone say it in Chicago/Illinois. must be because minnesota is near canada?
I would think this would be like The Night Before Christmas, where every goth kid in America sucks Tim Burton's dick.
yeah, Burton and especially Depp are rapidly being overexposed.
/long story about hitting people with water baloons
sounds fun and mature. so anyway, me and my gf were sleeping tonight (action-packed excitement++) and I woke up about a half an hour ago and she wasn't there  so here I am. she promised that we would sleep together tonight though, so i'm just playing the waiting game for now. np: Spinal Tap - Rock and Roll Creation |

Yeah, it's a MeeneSOHHta thing, donchaknow? :p My aunt has an entirely different accent from living in Chicago, though. |
It's more of a Minnesota thing than a midwest thing, because I never hear anyone say it in Chicago/Illinois. must be because minnesota is near canada?
I should have been more specific. I really meant the Dakotas and Minnesota. The dialogue in Fargo was great, but I hate how 1/3 of the lines not from Buscemi were "wat the heck are u talking aboot ya" and "nooooo no no" and "donchaknow that hun". The editing job was also awesome. I'd still say TBL is better than it, though.
yeah, Burton and especially Depp are rapidly being overexposed.
Burton in general is pretty good, I really liked Ed Wood. Depp just gets way too much hype. |
My aunt has an entirely different accent from living in Chicago, though.
Yeah, Chicagoans have a different and equally dumb accent :p
Burton in general is pretty good, I really liked Ed Wood. Depp just gets way too much hype.
It bears noting that there are more Depp movies that I enjoy than there are Burton movies I enjoy. |
Wisconsin has that accent sometimes but it sounds different than the Minnesota one.

Good roles that Depp has starred in:
What's Eating Gilbert Grape Ed Wood Donnie Brasco Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Blow Pirates of the Caribbean Sleepy Hollow From Hell fill me in if I'm missing some Good works directed by Burton: Ed Wood Batman Big Fish /// The most annoying accents to me is the strong New England/Boston accent and the Southern Californian accent, and the newly added Minnesota accent. The New York accent isn't so bad to me, because both my parents have it and I've gotten used to it over the years. My mom has a more Brooklyn-ish one, and my dad's is more of a Christopher Walken one. |

And I know what you mean about boston accents...I mean, a lot of my friends from HS have them, but with hardcore Boston accents it's hard for someone to sound smart, to put it as cruel as I possibly can. /feels bad for saying that Depp movies I have enjoyed: Gilbert Grape, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Ed Wood, Donnie Brasco, Pirates of the Caribbean, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Blow |
Southern Californians have accents?
You've heard it; you know, the valley girl? Even some guys have that. The accent is usually not as harsh as the VG, but it's pretty distinct. Most people here don't have any accent though.
And I know what you mean about boston accents...I mean, a lot of my friends from HS have them, but with hardcore Boston accents it's hard for someone to sound smart, to put it as cruel as I possibly can.
A cousin of mine lives in Boston now and has a kid that he thinks could get the accent. The one thing he really hates about Boston aren't the Sox fans [:p], but the HAHVAHD YAHD accent. |
From Hell also had a very good Depp role in my opinion and I enjoyed the movie alot more than most of his movies.

Ohhh, so for guys it would sound like, say, Keanu Reeves, right? Just as a reference point.
A cousin of mine lives in Boston now and has a kid that he thinks could get the accent. That's the thing I really like about Depp; the versatility. Like Tom Hanks, he isn't one of those actors that usually sticks to one sort of role and sparks his career from it. I mean, who else could go from a burned-out pirate to a coke drug lord to a notoriously shitty 50's director?
Ohhh, so for guys it would sound like, say, Keanu Reeves, right? Just as a reference point.
Yeah, that's pretty much on-the-spot. |
/resurrects the thread.
Johnny Depp is a pretty fantastic actor and he likes to go for interesting and completely different roles which I really like. Plus he's hot which is a plus. I got my HIM album today. :D:D I don't reckon it's going to convert anyone because they've gone more towards the side of their music people tend to hate but I really like it. Plus mine is a limited edition. :D I was told las night I don't look like a transvestite. |
Cd haul, barely:
Gold frapp - Felt Mountain (£4.99) Izzy Stradlin' - River (£2.99) I also managed to find my Fopp, but put off buying anything from it. |
