Thank you! *salutes*
Purple Haze, I will master this song on the guitar at once

Broken Arrow 06-11-2005 09:14 PM

Haha, Its acctually not that hard to play. ;)

BludgeonySteve 06-11-2005 09:29 PM

I learned it all exept for the first solo which is freakin' weird and I can't quite get it right.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 06-11-2005 09:29 PM
its really good, really chanllenging to listen to, but it grows on you, especially if you are a seasoned Phycedelic listener.

I dont know how it compares to "parable", but from what ive heard "God bless..." is their best album.

By the way where did you find "The Parable of Arable Land"?
I found it on Soul Seek and it sounds like I would enjoy it I'm actully downloading it right now so I hope you were right. :)

jpj 06-11-2005 10:31 PM

Well, I saw Deep Purple tonight, and I must say the old farts still have it. Ian Gillian hasn't lost any vocal skills, and Steve Morse is a **** good guitarist. If you have a chance to see them, do so, even if you're not a big fan.

Did I mention tickets were $5 and they had BBQ? 'Twas a good day.

White_heat 06-12-2005 12:21 AM

awsome, deep purple doesnt come round here, infact no one comes here, it sux.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 06-12-2005 12:59 AM

I rather buy a nik. :smoke:

Illmatic 06-12-2005 01:12 AM

jpj: you live in the south, right?

If so, than that BBQ must be awesome. That's one thing the south did right: food.

Also, I'm not really a big fan of Deep Purple.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 06-12-2005 01:33 AM

Y'all don't be a'dissing the south ya' hear? (kidding)

I think jpj lives in Canada.

Edit: It's a shame when I have to argue with a teacher over if "y'all" is a real word. I hate rednecks. :upset:

Illmatic 06-12-2005 01:33 AM

I'm pretty sure he lives in like, Virginia or something like that.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 06-12-2005 01:38 AM

I remember Canada but now I can't remember.

Illmatic 06-12-2005 01:45 AM

Thickasabrick and Livewired both live in Canada.

mack daddy 06-12-2005 01:51 AM

well all my good friends love classic rock, but at my school i dont notice the sweep of popuarity all that much. mainly because there are a lot of east indians there and if you dont like rap they beat you up. im the only one with the guts to stand up.

LONG LIVE ROCK!
ROCK AND ROLL AINT NOISE POLLUTION!
Favourite bands: The guess who, AC/DC, rolling stones, Deep Purple and Guns and roses.

White_heat 06-12-2005 02:22 AM

FlyingPaul_83 06-12-2005 03:12 AM

Is Three dog night considered classic rock? if so then I like them a lot.

blue3 06-12-2005 03:16 AM

I don't know.. I've never heard any of their songs..

lunch998 06-12-2005 08:44 AM

JPJ lives in West Virginia, and for 5$ I'd be a fan of Deep Purple.

jpj 06-12-2005 09:02 AM

Yep, West Virginia, so I'm almost the south. I was there all day, and they had 4 opening bands. The first three were alright, but the last one were ****ing awesome. They were a blues band and they placed in the international blues competition. I really wish I could remember their name :-/

MalcolmYoungRock 06-12-2005 09:54 AM

So, who likes ELO?

Jeff Lynne is a genius.

BassMasterMike88 06-12-2005 03:24 PM

Why do all the reunion bands that I want to see have to be in the UK? Cream, and now Pink Floyd. Why can't they just come to Iowa for once :upset:

ATM 06-12-2005 03:27 PM

I would kill to go to that show.

They played Highway Star, Lazy, Hush, Smoke on the Water, two songs from the 2003 album (both of which were awesome), and some songs I didn't recognize. Airey had a really cool keyboard solo, he played the Simpsons theme and had some effect so it sounded exactly like it does on the show. He also did part of the Star Wars theme plus other cool stuff.

Have you been living under a rock today? They're playing a 10-12 minute set for the charity concert thing in London.

Well, I was at the airport when that thread was posted and haven't watched any TV today, so that's why I was unaware.
