i was a really happy optimistic kid but after seeing how badly people treat each other and how fucked up and greedy the world is i've learned to worry about myself out of necessity


i really care about my close friends and have done a lot to help them out (like letting my best friend live in my apartment for free and sharing my limited food with him back in college) but most people are terrible selfish bastards

it's hard to stay optimistic and not become cynical, I think deep down most people want the same things though

I give everyone a chance. If they abuse the terms of our relationship which is just a matter of basic respect, i'll deal with them as much as I have to but I won't give them the time of day and do them any favours.

I met a lot of wankers when I was a chef, it's a profession that seem to attract a lot of aggressive guys with a chip on their shoulder who act like they are superior to everyone. I knew if I stuck around in that job for long, i'd probably wind up a bitter old man cause all the people I met who had been in the game for a while that weren't the fuckheads always felt trodden on and dead inside. all the shit rises to the top

you can't claim life insurance on being a chef here because of the high suicide rate lol

i happen to be able to appreciate most everything that comes my way in a way which enriches my experience but i dont think that says anything about the nature of the world, only the nature of myself. people dont upset me but i also probably have slight detachment issues. i dont think there are evil people, i dont hate people except when i find it to be a pleasant exercise
