Spiritofmosa 12-17-2009 09:10 AM

rasputin 12-17-2009 09:15 AM

well you better believe it buddy

Txus 12-17-2009 09:25 AM

toe has a new album out

Bleekill 12-17-2009 12:46 PM

Never heard of them but which one are you talking about?

There are two groups with the name toe:

# toe (Japanese band) is a Japanese post-rock music group.
# Toe (American band) is an Chicago post-rock music group.

Txus 12-17-2009 01:16 PM

the japanese toe

yo mike you ever listened to the band sad breakfast? they remind me alot of irepress. and theyre from mexico. so you should love them.

Txus 12-19-2009 10:34 AM

ive never heard of them tbh

sounds cool, they should be called sad tacos

Nepenthe 12-19-2009 10:36 AM

and if the fact that i described them as a mexican irepress doesnt make you desperate to hear them, their cover art will

pageturning so the whole world can see this

Txus 12-19-2009 10:40 AM

Ok, just heard the song rompiendo cosas

****ing awesome

and they are from the 90's, thats pretty sweet that they are not a new band or anything

getting the self titled now

Jaundice 12-19-2009 10:59 AM

does stereolab suck or is it just me

Txus 12-19-2009 11:01 AM

never heard

Jaundice 12-19-2009 11:04 AM

it's kind of like neu! mixed with crappy indie pop i guess is the concept

it could almost have potential

Meatplow 12-19-2009 11:05 AM

stereolab sounds indie as ****

Jaundice 12-19-2009 11:06 AM

yeah i remember all the indie kids jocking them

i some how got this weird hunch that their music would be full of irony and prog experimentation but idk its just motorik beats

their album art is very nostalgic

Nepenthe 12-19-2009 12:05 PM

sounds gay talk about it somewhere else

Meatplow 12-21-2009 03:09 PM

I don't mind Dirty Three so far

Jacaranda 12-21-2009 03:46 PM

which album? horse stories or ocean songs?

Meatplow 12-21-2009 06:07 PM

the one with the sea imagery like the anchor logo and the mermaid and blue watery shades all over the front cover

horse stories I am guessing

Meatplow 12-21-2009 08:19 PM

Mogwai's The Hawk is Howling is really nice, none of their work has really left much of an impression on me but I like this quite a bit.

Jaundice 12-21-2009 10:50 PM

what s the most obscure dangerous post rock there is

I remember not liking that album at all. But I like Young Team and Mr. Beast and
Happy Songs for Happy People. I'm gonna listen to it again tonight though.

Txus 12-21-2009 11:18 PM

The review site is full of ****. The Hawk album is the best Mogwai the rest is pretty mediocre.
what s the most obscure dangerous post rock there is
lol

Meatplow 12-21-2009 11:31 PM

Yeah.

I liked all of their albums to some degree, Come On Die Young was probably the only one I found dreary.

I prefer shorter song lengths such as on Rock Action I think.

Linkin Park

Meatplow 12-22-2009 03:35 AM

thats post-melodic industrial metal

Á Bao A Qu 12-22-2009 03:36 AM

Shouldn't this thread be in the alt&indie forum?

Meatplow 12-22-2009 03:43 AM

It'd probably be best at home there, but we've had hardcore and hip-hop threads as well which don't belong here at all.

This at least falls under the banner of rock.

Á Bao A Qu 12-22-2009 03:45 AM

Fair enough.
