They're in Vancouver the day of the Juno's, too so maybe they'll actually go. I should ask. They obviously won't win, though, there's no chance they beat Sloan or Sam Roberts.

Just listened to this band cause of this thread, and at first I was like oh man this is awesome! and the more I listened the more 'meh' I felt about it.

I listened to the five or six songs they have on myspace. Bloodmeat was really good, but then they all started sounding the same. I mean flying through a scale every ten seconds is only cool for so long.

Not saying they're bad, just not something I would listen to regularly.

I just listened to Fortress in it's entirety and most of Kezia. While there is some moments (there are some wow moments in Turn Soonest to the Sea), I feel like I'm just hearing the same runs/licks recycled over and over.

Shred lick/breakdown/more shred/operatic chorus/acoustic interlude, over and over.

I dunno, I'm just not seeing it. Sorry.

Protest the Hero is a way better band. More energy, creativity, better lyrics and concepts, better vocals, and so on. Protest the Hero is beyond awesome.
