Twin Human Highway Flares 03-02-2008 10:42 AM

His voice sounds disgusting in those videos, especially the Baby, I'm an Anarchist one. Ugh.

And yeah, **** Stroll is by far the best on Vivida Vis, but it's definitely worth having anyway. I like This is Control too.

lexa 03-02-2008 06:54 PM

I just added a bunch more audio and video files http://againstmeforum.com/

In case there's something there you guys want and don't have, just sharin.

Scuba_Steve 03-02-2008 10:07 PM

On the topic of Vivida Vis, I love Burning Bridges.

If you can look past the recording quality (which did improve ALOT since Tom's Demo) its all pretty good imo.

Yeah, the guy selling that is from the VC boards. Everyone is ripping on him because he's just doing it for a quick buck.

nitzguy 03-03-2008 11:53 AM

why else would you sell it? of course he's doing it for a cheap buck. anyone dumb enough to buy a 12" for $100 is just that, dumb.

the VC board folks better never sell anything ever or they'll be hypocrites

mullets suk 03-03-2008 03:08 PM

VC board?

asdf 03-03-2008 03:31 PM

Vinyl Collective. Although I found out about in on DeadFormat.

mullets suk 03-05-2008 05:10 PM

new against me song?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euCGFBBAGJQ

not to bad, reminds me of some of there older stuff.

low0left 03-05-2008 06:59 PM

its just sad how theyll never be the same, not by sound but by never having the same beliefs as before which will definetly affect their music after and did.

AIRIC 03-05-2008 08:49 PM

God that song was so predictable. And his voice is horrid.

Cliche 03-05-2008 09:03 PM

Another one.

Henrik 03-06-2008 05:17 PM

I kind og like that gypsy panther song!

Brewing Up With 03-07-2008 06:04 AM

These new songs have potential to be better than most of the songs on New Wave.

playguitar 03-07-2008 11:27 AM

I like New Wave, but I think their material took a drastic turn for the worse with it. Everything released before it, especially Axl and Eternal, was just so much damn better. The originality and unconventional ideas they used to have are just kinda gone.

Henrik 03-08-2008 06:43 AM

I didn't really like Searching for a former clarity either.

Lexluthor 03-10-2008 08:29 PM

Ill be honest, I actually like New Wave a little better than I liked Searching (and I hated Searching).

Whilst in my opinion its still a very very average rock album, it does contain a few parts that seem to shine through the rough (Thrash Unreal/Borne On The FM Waves). Even if every other song was great though, the entire thing is always going to be ruined by the song Stop (....what were they thinking?!)

asdf 03-10-2008 08:53 PM

I don't want to admit that I occasionally get Thrash Unreal stuck in my head and need to listen to it.

I don't want to like it, but I almost sort of do.

proof that against me are stealing your freedom of thought.

Cease listening immediately.

Ephemeral 03-10-2008 10:47 PM

capitalist sympathizers

an0therface 03-13-2008 01:38 AM

Sweet, just got my ticket for AM! and Crime In Stereo in Melbourne, saw them last June and it was a solid show, looking forward to it and CiS should be OK too.

Anyone know if Crime In Stereo is any good live? I have a few loose tracks on my computer but haven't heard all that much else.
i'm seeing against me! in a couple of months at the garage in london. it's just down the road from where i live, but it's been shut for over a year and a half (since just after i moved to this area) which sucks. but i definitely can't wait to see the band, they are one of my all time favourite ever bands to see live.
Hey is their any chance you could pick me up a Stop 7" there if i send you the cash and an SAE?

superskankinactionhero 03-28-2008 02:44 PM

i was listening to the radio in my mates car today and the matey said 'and here's against me with the song think' (i think it was called) and it started with some shitty electronic indie so i was like surely this can't be THE against me... and then tom gable's unmistakable vocals kicked in with some awful lyrics, and i sat there for about ten minutes wondering what must've gone wrong

Cliche 03-28-2008 04:06 PM

Take some time to think.

Imdrunksowhat 03-28-2008 10:48 PM

The regular version of Sink, Florida, Sink (non acoustic) is my favorite by them. They make amazing music are are killer live

I belive you're thinking of Stop, but that starts out with a dance beat and vocals; no electronics. Unless it was a remix or something lame...

Brewing Up With 03-29-2008 06:07 AM

So.. what do you guys think of the recorded version of Gypsy Panther?

I was a little mislead by the acoustic version in that video.
Take some time to think.
that's the boy. STOP! TAKE SOME TIME TO THINK! THINK ABOUT WHATS IMPORTANT TO YOU! YOU GOTTA MAKE IN IMPORTANT DECISION! or some bullshit

londoncalling457 03-29-2008 07:13 PM

I was listening to some AM! today and I realized that the lyrics to "Pints of Guiness Make You Strong" are pretty awesome. Makes me appreciate the song a lot more.

Twin Human Highway Flares 03-29-2008 07:26 PM

The lyrics are the first thing I noticed. Everything up to and kind of including ATEC is fantastic, except maybe some of the really early stuff which doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

londoncalling457 03-29-2008 07:32 PM

Yeah the first thing that stood out to me was the part where he's like "If I would have known just how things would've ended up, I just would've let myself die." Pretty intense.

Twin Human Highway Flares 03-29-2008 07:45 PM

That line always bothered me because "If I would have known" makes no sense whatsoever. I get what he means and I love it, but that line, grammatically, bothers me so much.

Flagjacket 03-29-2008 08:42 PM

"If I would have known" is grammatically sound...

Twin Human Highway Flares 03-29-2008 08:55 PM

Well ****. It's the second part. "If I would have known just how things would've ended up..." Should be "things would end up".

Boy is my face red.

my favorite lyrics, only rivaled by "Beginning in an Ending"

the-UK-ska-scene 04-03-2008 05:09 AM

i'm gutted, against me in london has been "upgraded" to islington academy, the worst venue ever. even the best bands have bad shows there. however, the steal are supporting so it evens out the badness for me

Amphetamine 04-05-2008 10:45 AM

Nuclear Cowboys actually gave me hope that some of the old spirit is still alive. Amputations kind of shrunk that hope.

Agreed. It's exactly the same stuff that's on New Wave.
