Hello people

Jom 04-19-2005 09:56 AM

I'm at uni, on break from classes before I go downtown.

Good afternoon to the East-of-the-Atlanticers, good morning to everyone else.

Being from Poland, kapusta (sauerkraut) also plays a huge role in holiday dinners... from it being put in homemade pierogies, or as a kielbasa accompaniment... basically, there's no stopping it from giving you a severe case of gas :p

How's everyone faring today?

ICB the first.

superpeer 04-19-2005 10:31 AM

Is it a Belgian pope?

Shred Danson 04-19-2005 10:32 AM

Is it a gay black pope?
Is it a gay black pope?
i can't stand gay people, but a gay pope would be ironic.

heavy metal kid 04-19-2005 10:54 AM
They've just named Cardinal Ratzinger as the new Pope...in other words, the Catholic Church has chosen someone who's every bit as conservative as the last Pope was, meaning that we can expect to see a continuation of the policies on contraception, abortion, stem cell research, and homosexuality that have been causing various degrees of tragedy all around the world. Wonderful.
where does he come from?

Joe 04-19-2005 11:06 AM
where does he come from?
Germany. and i agree with med, this is an appalling choice for the church because the church needs reform and the conservativeness of Pope Benedict XVI won't help.

Cain 04-19-2005 11:10 AM

This is really upsetting. I think it's pretty pathetic how the Catholics make concessions to mistakes centuries after they occur and the maximum amount of damage has already occured. John Paul II was the first guy to apologize for the trial of Galileo and the Spanish Inquisition easily four centuries after it happened. That's just unbelievable. Blind conservatism is a ridiculous way to live in a modern age.
