the one guy playing drums is like the drum tech guy, and they have some friend from an old band playing bass im pretty sure, its all up on cobalt.

lunchforthesky 08-08-2006 02:24 PM

from myspace

For the upcoming August dates, due to personal reasons, Mic and Josh will not be performing with Coheed and Cambria. Instead, Claudio and Travis will be joined by Matt Williams (who formerly teamed with them in the band Jumblehead - from Nyack, NY) on bass and our beloved MP (ex-Samiam) on drums. "We'll discuss their future at a later date, but right now, all we want to do is to get out and play for our fans," Claudio said. "Travis and I are excited to share the stage with Matt and MP, because they add a new flavor to the songs and it makes performing them even more fun."

Coheed and Cambria will begin working on a new album this fall.

thats pretty crappy but at least there still gonig to continue. i always thought they added a lot to the coheed sound.

chumpradio 08-08-2006 02:43 PM

"Travis and I are excited to share the stage with Matt and MP, because they add a new flavor to the songs and it makes performing them even more fun."

That makes me think that this could be permanent, seeing as it's a bit of a jab at Mic and Josh.

AZNMan#2 08-08-2006 03:14 PM

They don't scream KBI in Neverender though...:(

DepthsOfDreams555 08-08-2006 03:20 PM

What do you mean???

AZNMan#2 08-08-2006 03:21 PM

The bassist didn't scream KBI!!!!! when they played Everything Evil at Lollapalooza. :(

Why did I say Neverender?
:smash:
self

DepthsOfDreams555 08-08-2006 03:22 PM

Exactly haha, that's what I was lookin for.

cobert 08-08-2006 04:44 PM

AZNMan#2 08-08-2006 04:45 PM

SHUT UP RIGHT NOW!

TheBigMachine 08-09-2006 01:32 AM

Mic and Josh should start another band that's just as good, then there will be like two Coheeds in the world  :amaze: :smoke:

Storm In A Teacup 08-09-2006 12:23 PM

Now that's just silly. It's not Coheed without the leads of Travis and the EPIC vocals of Claudio.

AVATAR CHANGE! I got rid of my Claudio avatar, only to honor the breakup of BoySetsFire though. Soon a C&C avy will return. :D

cobert 08-09-2006 01:32 PM

If it is true that Mic and Josh left for good, I hope they start a new band that is less "Willing Well: II - From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness" and more "Hearshot Kid Disaster".

lunchforthesky 08-09-2006 02:14 PM

yeah but unless mike moves onto guitar it wont really sound like what he writes. i dont imagine theyll do much really. coheed are nothing without claudio and the other guitarists (i forget this name).

cobert 08-09-2006 02:21 PM

Theyre not anymore, because it feels like the bass got raped on IKSOSE and the drums got raped (not too bad) on GA. Every instrument was integral to the songs on SSTB.

lunchforthesky 08-09-2006 02:24 PM

i dont know aboout. faint of hearts has a strong bass.

i kind of agree with you on good appolllo. although i still like the album.

cobert 08-09-2006 02:31 PM

GA was okay, it just didnt have any replay for me. I got bored quick with it.

One song isnt the whole album though. There were a few parts that were cool, but the extent of the bass on IKSOSE was just little fills and such.

Fish 08-09-2006 08:14 PM

yeah the bass was definately pretty week through IKSOSE, I still dont want to see mic and josh out of the band though.

lunchforthesky 08-10-2006 08:35 AM

me either. if youve got the starland dvd you kniow that there pretty funny guys. both great on their instruments too.

Storm In A Teacup 08-10-2006 09:31 AM

I'll even admit the bass wasn't enjoyable on In Keeping Secrets because it was drowned.
If it is true that Mic and Josh left for good, I hope they start a new band that is less "Willing Well: II - From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness" and more "Hearshot Kid Disaster".
 Best song on SSTB right there son.

Fish 08-10-2006 12:57 PM

um nope, it's not :)

cobert 08-10-2006 01:48 PM

Junesong Provision was the best on SSTB, and the best Coheed and Cambria song.

imnotamusician 08-10-2006 02:00 PM

i didn't like their old stuff, atleast the stuff i saw on t.v.

but when i heard welcome home, i was totally blown away.

Cygnus Inter Anates 08-10-2006 02:04 PM

Welcome Home sucks in four dimensions.

Storm In A Teacup 08-10-2006 02:08 PM

/no arguement here :-\

cobert 08-10-2006 02:11 PM

Yeah, as ive said, i dont really like the new album, IKSOSE is okay, SSTB is radddddd.

imnotamusician 08-10-2006 02:14 PM

you guys don't like the squeeling pinch harmonics?

i think it's beautiful compared to blood red summer or three evils.

Cygnus Inter Anates 08-10-2006 02:15 PM

Pinch harmonics are retarded 99.9% of the time.

DJ Ducksauce 08-10-2006 02:16 PM

GA was cool for a bit, but I can always listen to SSTB and IKSSE:3 over and over through the whole album. I can't do that with GA.

imnotamusician 08-10-2006 02:21 PM

i don't know i just don't really like the "strum strum stum sing sort of soft and melodic style".

i guess most of you don't like their more metal direction.

Cygnus Inter Anates 08-10-2006 02:31 PM

Hahaha, metal?

The new stuff doesn't resemble metal at all, besides maybe the solos. Which are the only good things about the songs on the new album.

Basically the whole album is watered-down "strum strum sing soft of soft and melodic" style but with weakass distorted guitars.

DJ Ducksauce 08-10-2006 02:32 PM

Nah, GA was great, but it didn't have anything to keep you focused on it.

I have to make myself listen to a few of the tracks.

Cygnus Inter Anates 08-10-2006 02:35 PM

Good Apollo is poop except for the first and last songs.

DJ Ducksauce 08-10-2006 02:38 PM

Yeah, the beginning and the end are the best parts.

Most of the middle seemed kinda filler...

Cygnus Inter Anates 08-10-2006 02:39 PM

They should've released it as an EP, and then went and made good music. That would've been cooler.

DJ Ducksauce 08-10-2006 02:40 PM

Haha, that'd be one hell of an EP though.

Cygnus Inter Anates 08-10-2006 02:45 PM

Well, an EP without all of the crap on it.

DJ Ducksauce 08-10-2006 02:46 PM

oic, yeah that would have been good, but that wouldn't work too well while trying to tell a story.

I think that GA screwed up the story tbh.

lunchforthesky 08-10-2006 02:50 PM
Pinch harmonics are retarded 99.9% of the time.
they sound good in metal. especially live.
but coheed overused it on Good Apollo. Welcome Home has about a hundred

Cygnus Inter Anates 08-10-2006 03:08 PM

That's like an average Black Label Society song.
