yeah, I discovered those guys through last.fm a few weeks back, and got their cd. Good stuff. I also stumbled across these guys at the same time, and they have some really good instrumental stuff. long songs too.

This thread is basically

"Who can get the next big namedrop of an obscure/shitty post rock band that no one cares about"

Eliminator 10-24-2007 06:28 PM

i wonder how many more post rock bands can use the phrase "moving mountains" before they give up and kill themselves

gmoneyguy 10-24-2007 06:58 PM

20.

Apocalypticon 10-24-2007 07:32 PM

Do Make say Think tomorrow night. I'm so stoked.

oracrest 10-24-2007 08:29 PM

What is the story of the one guy that godspeed samples spoken word from so much?

Kage 10-24-2007 08:31 PM

I don't think there is one.

Eliminator 10-24-2007 08:33 PM

apparently his name is 'Blaise Bailey Finnegan III'

oracrest 10-24-2007 09:09 PM

so apparently the guy is a street poet from rhode island, and his poem is actually stolen from an Iron Maiden song.

RiceMonster 10-24-2007 09:09 PM
so apparently the guy is a street poet from rhode island, and his poem is actually stolen from an Iron Maiden song.
Yeah, thus the name.

Eliminator 10-24-2007 09:09 PM

stolen isn't the right word.

big80smullet 10-24-2007 10:43 PM

Which samples are you talking about? The guy in Dead flag blues was from a documentary wasn't he. About American Indians or something. I think I read that somewhere.

RiceMonster 10-24-2007 10:47 PM

The samples being talked about are the one's in Blaise Bailey Finnegan III from Slow Riot for Zero Kanada

big80smullet 10-24-2007 11:15 PM

Oh sweet my bad. Nice avatar btw ricemonster good album!

oracrest 10-24-2007 11:22 PM
stolen isn't the right word.
I haven't read the original song lyrics, but he does claim that he wrote it right?

I was referring to that sample on the Slow Riot for Zero Kanada song, and he also is on "Providence," maybe others im not quite sure though.

antihippy 10-25-2007 03:40 AM
We Followed Tigers is basically one of the best bands ever
bwnstl 10-25-2007 10:24 PM
i know
They should quit college and make an album, because music misses them. Oh....and maybe higher quality EPs.

jrowa001 10-26-2007 07:45 AM

hey Kage, thanks for letting me know about Efterklang -- they are really good.

i finally got This Will Destroy You's Young Mountain. i really like it, not anything new but they do it good

big80smullet 10-26-2007 09:13 AM
like basically.
yes basically. no matter what pretentious crap them critics spew about it, its an awesome album. full stop.

Eliminator 10-26-2007 09:25 AM

ya 123 imho

oracrest 10-26-2007 10:20 AM
Its basically an amazing album.
I saw them open up for a day show during SXSW a few years back. They blew away the rest of the performances, completely. They have come a long way since then, and definitely deserve it.

I got the re-enter album, but I think it has a defect on the record, it always skips on me. Does anyone have this that they wouldn't mind sharing?

Apocalypticon 10-26-2007 06:50 PM

holy shit do make say think were amazing live
