I have the same. A friend of mine once started calling Sunn0)) background noise and I have to agree with him. I only have Pink by Boris and thats from what I heard not how they usually sound. Pink is great though.

Sleepy 01-23-2007 11:44 AM

I actually really like a lot of Sunn 0))) stuff. Black One and Flight of the Behemoth, to be specific. I never dare call it music, though.

And Boris is great. Pink and Heavy Rocks are both awesome albums. Amplifier Worship, too.

Don't say this man. You won't make friends :naughty:
But I like it when you agree with me....

RetiredAt21 01-23-2007 11:53 AM

I love Sunn 0))).

pate 01-23-2007 11:55 AM

I dislike Sunn O))).

the2stranger 01-23-2007 12:06 PM

I like Sunn O))).
I like Drone in general anyway.
Very good music, but mood music certainly.
Can't listen to it all day, like I can with funeral doom.

np: Awesome funeral doom. :p

pate 01-23-2007 12:11 PM

Funeral >>>>>>>> Drone

RetiredAt21 01-23-2007 12:13 PM

I'm not sure which I like more.

jva 01-23-2007 12:19 PM

I agree with pate. I don't think that it is even possible to really listen to Sunn 0))). It's got nothing to do with mood, because they don't resemble any kind of mood, not even depressing or such. Makes great background sound, but I don't get depressed, heavy or aggressive from it. Maybe a little bored.
Funeral >>>>>>>> Drone
Look well at this post, this man speaks the truth.

Funeral doom has a more organic and emotional feel, while drone is more mechanic and devoid of emotion, it really beats any emotion out of your skull.

Both are great though.

pixiesfanyo 01-23-2007 12:56 PM

Sunn0))) meh.

Earth :)

Lately been listening to alot of Funeral doom and I really like it. Ahab is one of my favorite albums at the moment.

Downloading Earth 2

NP: Weedeater - Monkey Junction

pate 01-23-2007 05:12 PM

Ahab is so good.

Phototropic 01-23-2007 05:55 PM

Txus 01-23-2007 05:57 PM

The Zebulon album is some of the best stuff I've heard lately.

RetiredAt21 01-23-2007 07:33 PM

I think I'm going to check out Ahab. Best album?

ATM 01-23-2007 07:35 PM

I know, there wasnt much feedback on it, huh?

Shattered_Future 01-23-2007 07:58 PM

I'm still in love with Hope at the moment, to be perfectly honest.

Ahab. \m/
EARTH. \m/
Weedeater. \m/

All great stuff. :D

ANd indeed, Call Of The Wrecthed Sea is the only full length album.
The also have a demo with 2 songs from the album, another song that doesn't appear on the album and an outro.

Daven 01-24-2007 08:35 AM

I need to get my hands on some Earth material.

the2stranger 01-24-2007 09:02 AM

Start with EARTH II Special Low Frequency Version.
:)

Daven 01-24-2007 09:04 AM

K, ill look for it later. I'm expecting it to be good.

the2stranger 01-24-2007 09:06 AM

Expect it to be low.
It's far different from Sunn O)) if you're familair with them.

Daven 01-24-2007 09:13 AM

Yeah, i like Sunn O)))

AlienEater 01-24-2007 10:42 AM

Wow I was about to ask for Earth recommendations.

Coincidence...

Or something far more sinister?

Iron Bars 01-24-2007 12:29 PM

I'm listening to Teeth of Lions rule the Divine and I'm not as turned off by it as the few times I tried Sunn0)). It's still a challenging listen though. The thing I miss most is any form of drumms.

the2stranger 01-25-2007 04:46 AM

It has a lighter feel then Sunn O))), not as suffocating and dark as Sunn O)))

Speaking of your np, Johan.
Teeth Of The Lions Rule The Divine is a great band too, also featuring O'Malley and Anderson.

np: stoner.

Iron Bars 01-25-2007 05:37 AM

I'm downloading that album too because of Lee Dorrian being involved.
