Just making sure, if anyone cares that song was actually originally played by buddy holly and the crickets.
|
i thought it was also done by some dude with the name John
|
these lyrics are good.
cool'n'out-mescaleros Late news breaking this just in...yeah, cool 'n' out! God sure baked a lot of fruitcake, baby, When Adam met the Eden lady, They're walking the streets And they're driving cars They're all over the country And they're running ours, They're walking on the wounded who won the war, What's the matter people, Was it worth fighting for? Fix that gauge or you run out of gas, A cool operator can make it last, Say from here to Indiana and across Illinois, We're rockin the girls and a-boppin' on the boys, And I spot a little bitty on a little bam bam, That pill poppers hopping on a city bound tram... The stars go in, and the stars go out, And punk rock what is's all about, And even when you're just-a-chillin' out... You're wondering W-w-w-w-w- what's it all about?.. Cool 'n' out. At the G7 summit, well we've got some 25, And we're putting it into the gin supply, We want a satellite crashing outta the skies, And a firework display by ballistic missiles, I got a sneeky feeling That the poker's getting hot Cos twice times bitten.. And it's a third time shot. Oh, the stars go in, and the stars go out, And punk rock what it's all about, An' even when you're just-a-chillin' out... You're wondering... What's it all about? Cool 'n' out... What's it all about? Cool 'n' out. |

give me yours i dont have money to buy one! |
I've got Streetcore and it is pretty good. People usually say thats the best one.
|
Cash and Strummer's version of Redemention Song is very good, better than the orginal in my mind.
|
yea..i need to show my dad that song. he loves Cash but hates Joe and the Clash, maybe if i show him the song he will respect Joe
|
It fits Joe better than Cash, since its a more revolutinary type song, he adds a lot to Cash's voice when they sing together.

that's how my dad fell in love with the mescaleros.he used to hate joe too |
Streetcore
123 all their albums are good and different, but i think streetcore is my favorite cause get down moses and long shadow are on this one.and long shadow is the first mescaleros song i listened to. |

people usually think that global is better.or maybe just the people i know...my friends think streetcore is too 'country', they just dont know what they're talking about.it doesnt sound country to me. |

I prefer Joe and Johnny's version because it's just means so much more now they're both dead. It's like these two legends coming together with a message from the grave. And as much as I like Strummer, his voice isn't the strongest but it works well complementing Cash's. |
it would have been amazing if it Joe Bob and Cash did it.
|
i really dont like bob marley's version
|
Oh... I was about to ask who Joe Bob was...
/feels stupid |

That's what I thought too. It works extreamly well. I don't like Marley's that much, since I heard Joe and Cash first. |
it sad that cash didnt want to record road to rock'n'roll (on rock art).his voice would have sound amazing on this song.

They say that soley because of long shadow, which is a great song anyway |
its a great song and the first i ever heard by the mescaleros.it's a sad song though, cause joe died soon after he wrote it.streetcore sound a lot like he knew he would die.it freaks me out.
somewhere in my soul...there's always rock'n'roll... |
Yeah I've thought about that, streetcore really sounds like he knew he was dieing, what with Ramshackle Day Parade, Long Shadow, Redemtion Song, and Silver and Gold.
Coma Girl was the first song I heard |
I'll probably get Streetcore for my birthday. It's fairly soft too, right? My parents might even like it...
|
I've only played Get Down Moses for one person who didn't like it, but he's an ICP fag
|
