Good ol' Word :p.

Any time mate - you deserve it.

Nice subjects there :). I would've thought the history workload would be bigger, but hey.
Btw, we've got an HSC/VCE music thread floating around in Beginner's Questions if you want to check that out. I can't say it's turned out as useful as I'd have liked it to be, but I guess it's better than nothing.

The way HSC does it sounds good. In year 12 we just keep working until part of the way through term 4 then get study leave for a while.

Haha, we really gotta stop hogging this thread

Aes820 08-23-2006 03:49 AM

Don't worry about it. Hog it all you want. It's nice seeing the thread being used.

I started doing some paving in my front yard weekend last. And got my pinky finger stuck between a couple of bits of old concrete edging and (i think) broke it.
http://www.dropbear.net/files/finger.jpg
The bruising has gone down since I took that photo. But it's still swollen and the nail is starting to fall off. Regardless to say, the paving had to wait.

The good news is that it has helped me break the habit of anchoring my pinky finger on the pick guard. Yay.

Trigger_003 08-23-2006 05:30 AM

Yum...

That's gotta suck man. I did the same kind of thing with a toe and a steel farm gate just a little while ago. Except, that doesn't always effect my guitar playing... unless I'm feeling adventurous or something.

At least it broke that habit I spose.

Grr, I'm having trouble with all this differentation application stuff for my maths course :(.

Jo Shoe Wah 08-24-2006 03:50 AM

haha yeah we have been hogging it a tad aye.

And aes, owwwwww that sucks, you know how long before it'll heal?

So what is with the abundance of aussies in here haha

is it good?

how's the DSOTM disc?

Trigger_003 09-02-2006 04:20 PM

Awesome. Hope you had a good one man.
Saturday night though - you shoulda been out partying :p.

Jammed yesterday then went to my maths course. I ended up doing like 30-40 pages of the book. It was crazy.
While I was walking there, an awesome jazz band was playing up on the balcony of the town hall so I stopped and watched for a while. They had this great call and response soloing happening between one of the trumpets and trombones. Everyone handing out fliers or whatever grinned at me as I passed because I had my trombone with me XD. The city was crawling with musos yesterday... more so than usual. Some mad crazy african drumers, loads of buskers, and heaps of people walking around with cases looking kinda like the MSO. There must have been something on at the concert hall. *ponders*

It's better than i could have imagined, every single song is amazing and they finish eclipse in such a great way, let me say i am going to regret not having been at that concert for the rest of my life. :p

Thanks man, it was a great day despite not being able to go out partying :) It's just too bad that everyone else was busy last night/today for fathers day.

BUT, our band finally jammed again yesterday :D. It was a big improvement upon our other jams as we finally got to use the drummers double kick and new cymbals with the whole band there. And today i'm going out for breakfast with my mum so that should be good also.

Hope your jam and course went well, i suppose those musos are taking advantage of the first weekend of spring to get out and busk aye, i must have seen at least 6 wedding parades on the road back from jamming yesterday, it's nuts. Yesterday was the best weather we've had in a while.

Trigger_003 09-13-2006 01:21 AM

omggzz almost holidays!

Oh yeah, fathers day never helps I spose.

Sweet as. You jammed again since?

Man, last weekend was insanely musical. 9am - AYB. Finished that at noon, drove over to our drummers and did Deprived of Sanity until about 6. Got home and practiced some more. Played music the most of the Sunday as well :D.

I played a solo piece at a concert too - it went pretty alright according to everyone other than me (and my accompanist who of course knew the music really well as well) haha.

Aes820 09-13-2006 01:35 AM

I got that job that I was going for.

:D

Trigger_003 09-13-2006 01:44 AM

The one a while back there?

Congrats man! :D

Aes820 09-13-2006 03:31 AM

Thanks Trea.
Yeah they took a good while to get it sorted out.
The boss gave me the news today, even tho I had it pretty much confirmed to me last week, it's just back then it wasn't totally 'official'. Today it was.

Last week i went and bought a bike and have been riding to & from work. Good for the fitness.

Jo Shoe Wah 09-14-2006 01:37 AM

Congrats chris, what's the job for?

Nah trea, haven't jammed since then with yearly exams and such coming up for us, 1 more day of normal school then 2 weeks of exams and i'm done with year 11.:)

I can't wait for the holidays i'm going up to queensland to my dads which should be awesome as i haven't seen him in 2 years. Snorkeling and scuba here i come :p

Your musical day sounded fun, my school had an art exhibition 2 weeks ago and needed some background music so me and 2 mates that play piano and sax did this jazz/blues improv for nearly an hour, it was pretty fun. My music teacher wanted us to do a shortened version for our prefect induction which was today, but the sax player is having it repaired so ah well.

Haha i'm like that with solo pieces too, you always pick up on every single mistake and the crowd most often barely notices a thing go wrong.

Aes820 09-14-2006 04:37 AM
Congrats chris, what's the job for?
Thanks.
The job is as a web officer. Managing and updating several websites.
Front end design, architecture, function, and content mainly. A little bit of infrastructure, but not much.

I'm an accessibility and best practise nazi when it comes to the web.
And also dabble in publication design as welll; things like posters, brochures, even bloody coffee mugs.
The amount of stuff i've gotten myself involved in keeps me very busy.

I'll have a chat to the boss tomorrow about $$ as well. See how much I'm entitled to.

Jo Shoe Wah 09-14-2006 06:57 AM

Sweet sounds like something you'll enjoy, good luck with it man.

aria333 09-14-2006 07:54 AM

Jo Shoe Wah 09-14-2006 09:23 AM

aria333 09-14-2006 09:24 AM

Jo Shoe Wah 09-14-2006 09:32 AM

That's good. Do you still give classical guitar lessons..slash what have you been up to?

Trigger_003 09-15-2006 03:13 AM

Hey Ben, sup?

Sick mate. Improv sessions are great. Good luck with your exams as well :).

Good on ya Chris. That reminds me. I got told off last weekend because I exercise. They called me un-Australian.

I've started off the holidays with getting home and doing 2:30 of trombone, going back to some more later xD.

I also managed to pick up an Armik cd for $7 (they're usually $30-$40) and I got some more Wagner because I can (and because I'm playing some orchestral exerpts of his). Yay.

Aes820 09-15-2006 03:34 AM
I got told off last weekend because I exercise. They called me un-Australian.
Pfft. What's more Australian than 'Life be in it'?

Trigger_003 09-15-2006 03:53 AM

Haha, truth

Jo Shoe Wah 09-15-2006 03:57 AM

Haha yeah if anything i would think australia is very pro-exercise, although admittedly we do have a huge obesity problem, how stupid in any case.

Mad i finished school today just the exams to go then sweeeet sweet holidays. :)

Gunna be good.

Trigger_003 09-22-2006 11:45 PM

How're the exams going?

Woo, this room I'm renovating is starting to look hella nice. Cleared everything out, managed to sell the spare fridge to a mate who'd been helping out for $10 (jokingly offered and next thing I knew it was sold), painted the plastered bits, polishing up the stairs and wooden bits around the room (it's a combination of mud brick, wood - got a lot of cedar and stuff in there so it's looking great - and plaster), putting down some carpet, then it's just a matter of sealing the bricks and we're pretty much done. No idea what to use it for but hey.

Yeah, other than that it's just the usual going on for me. How's life for everyone else?

Aes820 09-23-2006 01:24 AM

I'll get you around to my place to do my Kitchen / Bathroom / Dining room / family room. ay Trea?

Trigger_003 09-23-2006 03:41 AM

You betcha mate. You do my homework for me though ;).

Jo Shoe Wah 09-23-2006 03:55 AM

Exams are going pretty well suprisingly. I had english on monday which i reckon went fairly well, Ancient History on tuesday which due to my poor attention to timetables had me there 4 hours early, so i got a decent amount on study/sunbaking in :p

Maths was on wednesday and that was pretty easy, Physics was yesterday that's probably been the hardest so far but still alright i spose. Now i've got a 3 day break before Pdhpe and then music on friday. They always lump music on the last possible day.

Other than that i've started writing with a few more ideas i've had which as i've said before seem to come all at once and move in small jumps. :p

You could use it as a study, recording room, chillout area perhaps? Wherebouts is the room relative to other rooms in your house?

Trigger_003 09-23-2006 07:41 PM

Good to hear. Nice organisational skills there haha. Yeah they do seem to check music last don't they. Don't know what's with that.

If you ever record/midi up/whatever your songs or ideas, let us hear em (if you want to). :).

I'll find a use for it. As long as my parents or sister don't start filling it up as soon as I finish.
They so will.

Jo Shoe Wah 09-24-2006 12:54 AM

Haha tell them theres something dangerous that you still haven't fixed until you find a use :p

And yeah i'll be sure to upload something once i've got it down, thanks for the interest. Hows school going for you?
