2 headed dog? When?
Go to features, then Odds N' Sods. Then "Previous Covers" To the right, there will be 3 icons, the usual Back. and main menu ones, and a 2 headed dog. You click it and a picture of the dog from the Howling Dog Blues thing appears. With 2 heads. And lights flash. Wait, now i clicked it and got One Of These Days :-\ Just did it again, the dog appeared and now the language suddenly turned to japanese. |
nevermind, i cant find my DVD, its not in the box or any of the DVD players...
if its the dog from howling dog blues, then maybe it has that effect where each side of the picture is symetrical...sometimes floyd used that effect, but if you look closely, see if both side are just mirror images of them selves (if theres a backround behind the dog) |
I know that entire vocals solo on the guitar...i tabbed it myself, its pretty sweet. Just added some wah wah and some signature killer tone at the end (used in ABITW and SOYCD) and it sounds awsome. still have a little editing to do though
Do you have it in Powertab, or what program did you use? |

But i still don't know what the hell it's doing there :-\. |
So, in The Great Gig in the Sky, what do you guys really think is being said at around the 3:30 mark? I can't decide if it is "if you can hear this you are dying" or "I never said I was afraid of dying." :confuse:
I never said I was afraid of dying. EDIT: Think about it, was Waters going around telling people to say scary messages into the microphone? Nope, he was asking people questions about life and death, and probably asked the question "Are you afraid of dying?" Doesn't that make more sense? And I don't get what the dog is for either, I just know its the same dog on that song on the DVD. |

No, i was just bored one day...in the process of learning the whole album (which i know well now), so i just got my guitar, went to the computer, played the song over and over and over again, and tabbed it out as i went. I mustve listen to that woman scream over 100 times...but i added some other stuff in there of my own and gave it sort of an edge. I have it on Word...my very rough draft, and as i kept practicing it, i fixed it up myself without canging the tab. I dont plan on releasing it anytime soon (my reasons are my own), but its really simple. My guitar termolagy might be off, but its on the pentatonic scale, almost entirely around the 12th fret, which you can just barre almost the entire time (with the root note on the 12th string on the G string). I should really practive it again soon...maybe today, since im starting to loose my edge on Money too |
I never said I was afraid of dying.
Yes, it really does make more sense than some random subliminal Stairway to Heaven-esque message. So, does anyone know who it was who said that? |

tr00 His work on Dogs is secks |
Hey I'm sorry if this was asked allready but:
For anyone that has The Live At Pompeii DVD...What the hell is up with that 2 headed dog? It seems familiar. :thumb:
It is just a picture, with the same picture reversed next to it. Roger Waters looks liek a Monkey on the picture with him smoking :amaze: |
It is just a picture, with the same picture reversed next to it.
Roger Waters looks liek a Monkey on the picture with him smoking :amaze:
He rules on the interview "Are you happy with the film?" Roger: *blows smoke*... ... ... "What do you mean happy?" "Do you feel that it is going in a direction that is interesting or not?" Roger:..."What do you mean interesting?" He looks so stoned :p |

So, does anyone know who it was who said that?
Wasn't it Water's? If not, then I bet it's that chick who sings throughout the song. |
I'm pretty sure it was Clare Torry, the person who sings. I don't think they interviewed any other girls.
|
I heard that Pink Floyd are getting sued because the girl who had the vocal solo on Dark Side of The Moon wants more money. She wants money for writting part of the song, because the band members didn't told her just to sing whatever she wanted. Do you think she should get it \?
|
I thought the ones who were suing were the kids that sing in Another Brick In The wall?
Anyway, it's an old issue now. They should just get over it. |

At the beginning of great gig in the sky waters i believe says Im not afraid of dying. Any time will do i dont mind. Why should i be afraid of dying theres no reason for it.
|
And my fav. song by them for some reason is Learning to Fly. Second is welcome to the machine. BTW that piano in Great Gig in the Sky is excellent

I think you might have it confused with the women who says "I never said I was afraid of dying", at around 3:33. |

no he's talking about the guy who speaks before clare torry starts singing. in any case, not waters. it occurs from about 0:39 to 0:52 |

Exactly. I would have given my left lung to do that  |
Greedy English bastards
I woulda given both of my lungs to be on The Wall. Maybe only one. :upset: |

Excellent, a Momentary Lapse Of Reason fan. I really like Learning To Fly as well, great solo. |
"I'm not frightened of dying. Any time will do, I don't Mind."
Spoken by Jerry Driscoll, the Abbey Road doorman. |
Excellent, a Momentary Lapse Of Reason fan. I really like Learning To Fly as well, great solo.
Oh yeah, it's probably one of my fav Floyd songs now. |
