It's the bonus track on the Japanese version of War All The Time.
"A Tale For The Ages" is quite possibly the best emo song ever.
That title belongs to Woolworm (Angry Son) by Indian Summer.

cbmartinez 07-06-2005 12:18 PM

This is true. ATFTA is up there though.

That song crossed my mind when I saw cb post about A Tale For The Ages, it's a really amazing song but I haven't heard anything else by them that comes anywhere close to matching it.

Oh yeah, thanks for that Rockets and Blue Lights stuff too, I've got my iPod working so I gave it a few listens earlier on today and it's some really cool stuff. Are they still around or have they split?

Wow 07-06-2005 12:58 PM

Yeah, Indian Summer never touched Woolworm's greatness in Science 1994, but all of the songs on it are ace, anyway. They have an unrecorded song that they played in a live video I have which is almost as good as Woolworm.

Rockets And Blue Lights split just last year I think. It's a shame.

Electric Ocean 07-06-2005 01:02 PM

Why do all these crazy emo bands always have to split so soon? :upset:
hahaha, very funny kid, now get out of here!
Besides, those kids of Second and Devine look very stupid with them all having the same hair-do, and the singing is terrible..
I think it's funny that the hype/promotion for those bands totally surpasses the quality of the music.

I thought you said that "Fool" (Still life) was the best song... :p
But Angry Son is defenitely one of the best emo-songs ever, although Scarification (Julia), Small (Still life) and Cuts like drugs (Hoover) also are competing for that title if you'd ask me.

I say everything is the best song ever. However, I am serious when it comes to Woolworm. The amount of emotion in the song just blows me away every time I hear it.

I'll YSI it when I get home from school if cbmartinez doesn't send it first.

I think Aren't You Angel, or Sugar Pill get a little close to Woolworm.

Saturday Supercade 07-07-2005 09:43 AM

Yeah, "Aren't You Angel" certainly comes a little close to Woolworm...

And thnx Electric, I didn't had that song of Thursday yet..

Wow 07-07-2005 10:25 AM

Sugar Pill comes the closest in my opinion.

Electric Ocean 07-07-2005 01:38 PM

Does anyone have any idea what the song at the start of Angry Son is and who it's by?

Wow 07-07-2005 01:59 PM

Electric Ocean 07-07-2005 02:02 PM

Ok thanks I'll have a look on Soulseek now. :thumb:

Edit: I can't find anything on Soulseek and this is probably a long shot, but if anyone actually has this song could they YSI please?

Your avatar... is it after "Cutsman" by HORSE the Band? In any case, awesome band :thumb:

I can't get enough of Love Like... Electrocution, Love Lost but Not Forgotten, The Red Scare, Kaospilot, Hot Cross and Circle Takes The Square. Which bands in the first page's list would you recommend? I don't feel like searching for every band in that list... :upset:

cbmartinez 07-07-2005 07:46 PM

You trippin' D?
The Fall of Troy is similar to Love Like...Electrocution and Hot Cross. Pageninetynine is similar to Kaospilot. :) Thanks, and thanks to the others for the suggestions too

The Fall of Troy is the band that got me into this genre, I've known them for a while...

my old account name was _Alexisonfire_... but I got banned for making a very explicit drug thread. :upset:

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 07-08-2005 11:14 PM
