I wonder where you got that from.... :D

ArcLite 09-09-2005 03:55 PM

I enjoyed Hammerfall for a while, but sinse broadening my PM collection there's other stuff I'd just rather listen to. So they don't get much air time anymore. But not a bad band by any means.

Stoic 09-09-2005 04:07 PM

I dislike Hammerfall, I find them too generic and forgettable (the verses) except for a couple of songs maybe.

shadow_stalker 09-09-2005 04:07 PM

I never really listend to hammerfall, people keep telling me that they sound the samea s either Ived Earth or Blind Guardian, not sure which

ArcLite 09-09-2005 04:08 PM

They sound nothing like IE or BG. They're more comparable to Dragonforce or Sonata Artica.

shadow_stalker 09-09-2005 04:10 PM

Hmm i should like them then

I cant decide who i like better Sonata or Dragonforce

btw Ollie if you see this on the off chance you were wanting to practice tomorrow (saturday) we cant because there is a wedding party-thing on, and i dont think they want us playing through it

ArcLite 09-09-2005 04:24 PM

Sonata and DF are better than Hammerfall. That's why I don't listen to them anymore. There's similar bands that are better. But check them out anyway.

Hitroshimite 09-09-2005 05:54 PM

I've always found Hammerfall kinda bland, personally. They've got some nice riffs and catchy tunes, but they're just another face in the power metal crowd.

Lord Abortion 09-10-2005 05:00 AM
I agree that there'll be nothing really new coming from them, but I think they are good at what they do and I like many of their songs. Nothing remarkable but solid and enjoyable.
Hang on, I can't think of another band that has a huge dude in armour with a hammer as big as he is smashing an expoding anvil as a show opener - that's a bit different... :)
Alright...now THAT sound awesome.

Steerpike 09-10-2005 05:45 AM

I enjoy Hammerfall every now and again. They've made some great power metal anthems, Hearts on Fire in particular.

Lord Abortion 09-10-2005 05:49 AM

What's everyone's take on 3 inches of blood? I really like them.

Riva 09-10-2005 06:09 AM

Not really power metal, I think, but I seriously love them. I impulse bought Advance and Vanquish and I really think it was one of my best impulse buys ever. Fear Upon The Bridge and Deadly Sinners are power metal anthems to be sung with pride before a battle.

/knifes Titch

The riffs alone put IE way above most other bands.
I don't care if you WERE joking...

Every time I listen to Rhapsody they ge better, is there a name for this?

I thought "progressive Rhapsody improvement syndrome" or "P.R.I.S" sounded good.

shadow_stalker 09-10-2005 02:04 PM

I have only listend to Rhapsody once or twice so i never got into them, but i am getting into galloglass, took me a couple of listens but they are a cool band

Oh yeah knife me and the band has to find a new place to practice

and a new drummer, which will be easier :p

J/K... don't quit :upset:

shadow_stalker 09-10-2005 02:07 PM

i wouldnt quit, it would take me 3-4 more years to find a band that would play metal

Lord Abortion 09-10-2005 02:08 PM
i wouldnt quit, it would take me 3-4 more years to find a band that would play metal
Hoooray...

I sent you an E-mail when You get your MSN back BTW.

You also play in a pop-punk band, let's not forget that.

shadow_stalker 09-10-2005 02:10 PM

i would rather you call it a pop band than put the word punk in it, havnt practiced with them since we played that show at allendale

When we go see dragonforce what do you think i should take (apart from tickets and money), 2-3 hours is a long time to be on a train :upset:

Well, your MP3 player should be small enough to be OK when you take it, especially if you have zipping pockets.

and we can buy a newspaper or something.

shadow_stalker 09-10-2005 02:15 PM

Good idea, although i dont think im smart enough to read a newspaper, i will by a kids travel book and spend 3 hours joining the dots :upset:

Oh yeah have Louie and Slim learned Hallowed be thy name?

Lord Abortion 09-10-2005 02:24 PM

I hope they have, Louie said they have. Louie doesn't want to play whiskey in the jar anymore... and I do realise we're having 3 different convos here. That's why MSN is a good thing.

so our setlist looks like...
the misfits-dig up her bones
iced earth-Burning times
iron maiden-the trooper
iron maiden- hallowed be thy name
CC- stripped, raped and strangled.
Cannibal corpse version of Metallica's No remorse
He suggested a mayhem track, we might think of Deathcrush or funeral fog.
then The Abyss (orig)
and the gunslinger (orig)
and another untitled original I'm working on

shadow_stalker 09-10-2005 02:29 PM

I dont want to do Bells, militia ran that into the ground, why not whiskey?

Why do power metal bands have to use keyboards so much? it makes it so hard to play their songs

What about dig up her bones by misfits?

Lord Abortion 09-10-2005 02:31 PM

/adds dig up her bones

ask louie about Whiskey, I think if he wants to do a 'tallica song, we should do no remorse, it's awesome.

(the cover that is)

shadow_stalker 09-10-2005 02:34 PM

Could i borrow Silence and eliptica from you ollie, i will bring Takatalvi on monday (if i can remember it)

Lord Abortion 09-10-2005 02:38 PM

Sure, I'll lend you the two albums.

shadow_stalker 09-10-2005 02:39 PM

Thanks man...what link?

im gonna get the ablums anyway but that will be awhile yet, there are more toms to be added to my drumkit before then

Huber 09-11-2005 10:15 PM

The council's verdict on newer Helloween?

I myself love it.

Lord Abortion 09-12-2005 04:40 AM

So...we are gathered here today to mourn the loss of a brilliant band, the wonderful Dungeon, and to celebrate the new dawn of PM that Tim's new work as Lord, will bring us.
