Not sure yet... In theory I can probably stretch to a pretty reasonable amount, student loans and all.

I'm basically looking to get a cab, power-amp and modelling pre-amp, along the lines of the Behringer V-Amp Pro, JPBass was going on about.

If i were you I'd look into finding a used Lexicon G2, It has effects, and can model other amp systems, then i would get a crown power amp, very powerful power amps, and fairly cheap. and get an avatar 2x12, and just up grade later to a Bergantino NV 425. that would be the best rig i can think of for less than about 1500

Okay, I would like to ask about amps too. I was looking at an Ashdown EB-180, but I'm just wondering will the 15" speaker be the best choice for a low B string. The rest of the amp seems sound, its a decent size and everything. The only thing I need is a DI out on my amp, and preferably a compressor, so can anyone tell me if the 15" is good enough, or if I should go for something else and what?

also, on that yorkville i posted, they make a specially fitted 1x15 extension cab, to fit right under that amp, so i would be able to have 2x10 up top, and a 1x15 downlow. I would be only getting the 2x10combo for christmas, but i could save up for the 1x15 later.

Yeah I've played it, and it sounds good. Its about 500 USD, and 300 Watts.

o ok, there is a store intown, where i got my sr400, and they sell ashdowns, ill check it out someday.

The Hartke 2115 is good as well but it meets your price limit. It has 200watts. If your willing to go a little under your watt minimum the SWR Workingman's 12 would be a fine chice, with its 100 watts.

yea, id like to stay above 100 watts, 200 is preferably, but 307 off that ashdown would be really good, finally i may be heard in my band:D thanks funkn

Fat, I dont know your price range but the Eden Nemesis 212, has a that speaker setup and sounds fantastic.
